Patent number: 8001903Abstract: A tracer cylinder for use with a shotgun shell to provide an aiming and training aid for shotgun shooting sports, which also can be used for military and police applications. The tracer cylinder, which contains a liquid, is positioned in a shotgun shell above a disk-shaped piercing valve. The shell is loaded into a shotgun and fired. The forces of ignition cause the point on the piercing valve to puncture the bottom of the cylinder, and, when the cylinder is airborne, tracer liquid is released through the resulting opening by physical forces, creating a long-lasting mist or fog cloud that is visible to the shooter. The shooter is provided with a consistent and durable reference, allowing him or her to make effective corrections to his or her shooting technique. The tracer cylinder can be loaded into a shot holder, with or without shot pellets.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2011Date of Patent: August 23, 2011Inventors: Mauricio F. Quintana, James Alfred Dunnam

Patent number: 7942422Abstract: An elastomeric lip seal joint for sealing the inner liner and grout layers when joining two sections of multiwall pipe having an outer steel casing and an inner liner. The ring-shaped lip seal joint comprises a gasket with insulating material completely covering its outer surface. The insulating material is capable of shielding the gasket from the heat produced when the sections of outer steel casing are welded together. The use of the lip seal joint simplifies the process of joining sections of multiwall pipe. Each side of the lip seal joint is inserted into one of the annular voids at each end of the pipe, thereby sealing the inner liner and grout. A single circumferential weld then joins the outer steel casing. The gasket remains intact during the welding process due to the presence of the insulating material.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 2009Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Assignee: Unisert Multiwall Systems, Inc.Inventor: Kenneth Tierling

Patent number: 7374705Abstract: A method for installing a fiberglass or stainless steel liner into a steel casing which results in a reduction of strain on the casing. Conventional means are used to place the liner into the casing and to fill the annular space with cement. Thereafter, maximum design operating pressure on the liner is maintained while the pressure on the annular space is reduced; maintenance of those pressures keep the liner in an expanded state while the grout cures. As a result, the liner shares the load with the casing; pressure from the fluids contained in the system during operation is not transferred to the casing through the grout until the liner's preset internal pressure is reached. The use of the method greatly reduces the possibility of flowline failure.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2006Date of Patent: May 20, 2008Assignee: Unisert Multiwall Systems, Inc.Inventor: Kenneth Tierling

Patent number: 7152617Abstract: A safety valve assembly for use with a global manual valve which is installed on a high pressure cylinder or container. The safety valve assembly has a main body that is threaded into the lower bore of the global manual valve. A poppet valve slides into the bore of the main body and is restrained by a valve seat. An end cap is then threaded into the lower end of the main body to keep the poppet valve inside. The poppet valve has longitudinal flutes formed on the surface for regulated passage of gases and fluids. The poppet valve also has a cone on the upper end, which can have bleeder veins inscribed on its surface. When activated, the poppet valve prevents the uncontrolled release of high pressure out of the cylinder. Thereafter, the bleeder veins permit the release of small amounts of high pressure until the cylinder is exhausted to a safe level.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2004Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Inventor: Randal Wade Crawford

Patent number: 6915936Abstract: A tool for driving and setting nail-pin anchors and anchor bolts into concrete, the tool using the percussive action of a rotary hammer drill. The tool comprises a body member with a spring, a driver, and a ram inserted into the body member's bore. After a hole is drilled for insertion of the anchor, the masonry drill bit of the rotary hammer drill is slid inside the bore of the ram and temporarily locked to the tool. The rotary hammer drill is activated, and the drill bit turns inside the ram without affecting the body member or the anchor. Instead, the percussive force of the rotary hammer drill transfers its impact to the ram and the driver, which impacts the nail of the nail-pin anchor, or the stem of the anchor bolt, setting it into the concrete. A keyed bearing can be installed inside a sleeve of the ram in order to protect the tip of the masonry drill bit from shearing.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2003Date of Patent: July 12, 2005Assignee: Matrix Tool, Inc.Inventor: John Howard Estes
