    Abstract: The connector shell for a multiple wire cable assembly having multiple ground conductors and signal conductors comprises a housing having a ground potential, and a multitude of contact elements arranged in a longitudinal array. The contact elements are provided for making electrical contact to contact elements of a mating connector and comprise (i) grounding contact elements for connecting to the ground conductors of the multiple wire cable assembly and (ii) signal contact elements for connecting to the signal conductors of the multiple wire cable assembly. A longitudinal grounding plate extends along the array of the contact elements, the grounding plate having two lateral edges at least one of which is provided for electrical connection to the ground potential of the housing. The grounding plate comprises throughholes through which the grounding contact elements extend. At the throughholes, the grounding contact elements are electrically connected to the grounding plate.

The film can be joined or laminated into glazing (especially non-planar vehicular safety glazing) with reduced likelihood that the metal or metal alloy layer will be damaged or distorted.

The first support member and the second support member are assembled with each other to arrange the wire conductors C between the conductor-connecting sections of the terminal elements and the corresponding bearing surfaces. An abutting member is assembled with the body. The abutting member has a pressing surface for uniformly pressing the conductor-connecting sections of the terminal elements supported by the first support member toward the corresponding bearing surfaces of the second support member.
