    Abstract: A method for allowing a correlation function to be applied to binary codes f length 3 to length 128. A user may specify the desired length of the binary codes for correlation processing; whether the binary code is to use a phase sidelobe level as the threshold or a sidelobe amplitude as the threshold. The user will also be asked to specify the threshold as well as an in phase coefficient referred to as alpha and an out of phase coefficient referred to as a beta. The user may also specify that the codes be expanded which results in correlated compounds having a length twice that of the specified length being displayed to the user. When the user has specified the parameters for correlation processing of the binary code length selected by the user, the program of the present invention will process the binary codes eliminating allomorphic and symmetrical forms of the codes from correlation and then display the results to the user.

C., followed by treatment with approximately two equivalents of (CH.sub.3)MgX in relation to the SbX.sub.3 at about 0.degree. C. The tertiarybutyldimethylantimony is used as a precursor in forming antimony-containing semiconductor material by chemical vapor deposition.

    Abstract: An optic fiber payout test system and apparatus is disclosed which is adad for simulating the payout of fiber at high speeds. This optic fiber payout test apparatus is comprised of a projectile, a source of fiber attached to the projectile, and a pneumatic propulsion system to propel the projectile and initiate the payout of the fiber. The fiber payout test apparatus further comprises a projectile track system as well as a braking system which allows the projectile to be used safely within a laboratory environment. The optic fiber payout test apparatus also provides a means for testing the payout of fiber optic cable in a manner that simulates the high rate of speed and high accelerations encountered during free flight. This capability is important for the development of launched fiber optic guided weapons systems and in particular, air launched optic guided weapons systems.

    Abstract: An accelerometer or seismometer has a pair of flat spirals of optical fiber and has one or more elastic disks bearing a mass and supported for flexure. Each spiral is fixedly attached to a corresponding disk side so that disk flexure lengthens a spiral on one disk side and shortens a spiral on an oppositely facing disk side, the spirals being connected as legs of a fiber optic interferometer so that the interferometer provides an output corresponding to the flexure. A pair of the disks may be mounted oppositely of a sealed body with a pair of the spirals arranged to minimize the effect of pressure changes on the sensor, and a pair of the spirals may be mounted oppositely of a thermally conducting disk to minimize temperature differences between the spirals. The mass may be centrally mounted on a disk with the disk peripherally supported, or the mass may be distributed around the disk periphery with the disk centrally supported for isolation from mounting strain.

    Abstract: A slave controller with block transfer capability for transferring data blocks of between one and two hundred fifty six sixteen bit words between a memory and the VERSA MODULE EUROPE bus (VMEbus). The slave controller comprises a programmable array logic device which receives control and address modifier signals from the VMEbus and an address enable signal from a decoding circuit which provides the address enable signal to the programmable array logic device in response to an address strobe signal provided by the VMEbus. The programmable array logic device being responsive to these signals enables the memory for a read or write operation. The programmable array logic device next provides a write pulse to the memory when data is to be written into the memory at addresses provided by a binary counter.

The integrated system also includes a pair of resistance heaters and a pair of clutch-brake devices. The FMG units are axially aligned and displaced from one another. One FMG unit operates in a counterclockwise direction, while the other FMG unit operates in a clockwise direction. The two FMG units produce the bi-directional roll torque characteristic necessary to develop roll-dampening torques for the missile system roll control autopilot.

    Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the length of fiber optic cable being deployed om a winch to an underwater environment. The cable deployment measuring apparatus of the present invention comprises a constant current generator for generating a direct current, a resistor array having a plurality of series connected resistors and a plurality of trip wires with one of the trip wires being connected across each of the resistors. The trip wires which function as short circuits are also attached to the cable at predetermined locations along the length of the cable. When the fiber optic cable is being deployed, each trip wire will break when the location at which the trip wire is positioned is unwound from the winch for deployment in the underwater environment. This, in turn, will cause flow through the resistor array with a resulting voltage drop across the array.

    Abstract: A slave controller which provides the control signals for effecting the r and write operation of a memory electrically connected to the VERSA MODULE EUROPE bus (VMEbus).     Abstract: An electro-rheological fluid damped actuator having an actuator housing w a moveable element such as a piston and rod assembly disposed within the housing. The actuator further comprises a hydraulic circuit with an electro-rheological fluid disposed in the hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic circuit and rheological fluid provides an active and variable damping force on the moveable element. The damping force is controlled by the output of an electrical circuit which creates an electric field within the hydraulic circuit. The electric field will cause the viscosity of the electro-rheological fluid which is exposed to the electric field to increase or decrease in accordance with the magnitude of the electric field. The increase in viscosity of the electro-rheological fluid as it flows through the actuator provides an active damping force on the actuator which allows a more precise control of the output motions of the actuator.

    Abstract: A biodegradation apparatus comprising an enclosed vessel for holding a large volume of soil contaminated with hydrocarbons. Air diffusers uniformly within the vessel force moistened air through the vessel thereby removing volatile hydrocarbons from the contaminated soil. Outgoing air is supplied to vapor phase bioreactor for the removal of hydrocarbon contaminants from outgoing air. The outgoing air is next supplied to a granular activated carbon filter system which absorbs remaining hydrocarbons and then expels non-polluted air into the atmosphere concluding phase one treatment of the hydrocarbon contaminated soil. Phase two treatment of the hydrocarbon contaminated soil is initiated by utilizing high pressure injection nozzles to force water with surfactant additives through the soil thereby forming at the upper portion of the enclosed vessel a supernatant which includes hydrocarbon contaminants.
