  • Patent number: 6020073
Abstract: A substantially permanent pavement marking system using a polymer modified cement material to provide a raised marking that extends above the surface of the pavement. The lines are formed by taping off the desired outline shape of the marking. • Patent number: 6012444
Abstract: The present invention provides a fast cooking system through the use of an oven having radiant burners located interiorly at the top portion thereof. The oven includes a rotary spit on which the meat is supported and rotated to prevent burning. A blower is located at the lower portion of the oven below the spit to remove smoke and simultaneously pull heat from the top of the oven causing airflow downwardly from the top of the oven. The blower facilitates combustion and increases cooking efficiency and eliminates the need for a Ni-Cad screen adjacent the ceramic plates.

  • Patent number: 6000671
Abstract: A vibration isolation system having at least three vibration isolation units. Each of the units preferably has the same general configuration. The isolation units each include a support stand having three (3) adjustable feet for adjustably supporting and leveling the isolation units on the floor of the site of operation of the precision equipment desired to be isolated. The units further include a fluid tight cylinder. The fluid tight cylinder is connected to the support stand via three uniformly spaced rods in such a fashion that allows horizontal movement of the cylinder relative to the support stand. A fluid is disposed in a chamber formed intermediate the fluid tight cylinder and the support stand thereby providing a thin film viscous shear damper for damping excitations having a horizontal component. The fluid tight cylinder is sealed by a diaphragm. A piston is positioned directly above the diaphragm. A pair of stops limit the upward and downward movement of the piston.

  • Patent number: 5996688
Abstract: A hydraulic pump jack drive system for reciprocating an oil well pump rod. The drive system comprises at least one hydraulic well head cylinder, a reversible flow hydraulic pump, and a master cylinder. The master cylinder has a free floating master piston and at least one fixed bulkhead. The master cylinder also has a working fluid chamber hydraulically connected to the hydraulic well head cylinder and at least two master piston drive chambers hydraulically connected to the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic well head cylinder and the working fluid chamber are filled with a working fluid and define a working fluid system while the master piston drive chambers and the hydraulic pump are filled with hydraulic fluid and define a hydraulic drive system. Reversing the flow of the hydraulic pump causes the master piston drive chambers to be pressurized and de-pressurized on an alternating basis to reciprocally move the master piston within the master cylinder.

The container includes a rigid outer shell, having enclosed sides, an enclosed bottom and an open top, and an inner planting pot formed from a decomposable material and having enclosed sides, an enclosed bottom and an open top. The inner planting pot is releasably receivable within the rigid outer shell such that when the inner planting pot is received within the rigid outer shell the bottom of the inner planting pot is supported on the bottom of the rigid outer shell. The enclosed sides of the rigid outer shell are sloped inwardly from its open top to its enclosed bottom. The enclosed sides of the inter planting pot are sloped inwardly from its open top to its bottom to a greater degree than the slope of the sides of the rigid outer shell. An annular air space is created between the inter planting pot and the rigid outer shell when the inner planting pot is received within the rigid outer shell.

  • Patent number: 5979894
Abstract: A lotto type online game for use in state sponsored lottery applications, commercial game applications, newspaper circulation builder promotional games, and others. The method of playing allows the player a choice in selecting, at the point of purchase, the price point level to be wagered and the degree of participation desired. The method of playing lottery game includes the step of selecting a first set of numbers from a predetermined group of numbers identified by a lottery sponsor. Winning of a prize is determined by matching a plurality of the numbers of said first set of selected numbers with at least some from a first set of drawn numbers and matching a plurality of the numbers of said first set of selected numbers with at least some from a second set of drawn numbers. The first and second sets of drawn numbers are determined by the lottery sponsor. The game can incorporate the existing equipment of the lottery sponsor for selecting numbers, printing tickets and drawing numbers.

  • Patent number: 5980755
Abstract: A differential pressure monitor measures the pressure at a plurality of heights in a filter bed. A preferred embodiment of the monitor comprises an elongated body, a plurality of pressure sensors located on the elongated body for obtaining the pressure readings, a control means for determining differential pressures from the pressure readings, each differential pressure being the difference in pressure between pressures measured at two different heights in the filter bed, and transmission means to transmit the pressure readings from the pressure sensors to the control means. Methods of monitoring and controlling the performance of a filter bed during filtration and during backwashing also are provided. Two such methods include measuring turbidity levels in a filter bed and obtaining water samples from a filter bed.

  • Patent number: 5947635
Abstract: A method of sealing and marking pavement with recognizable indicia. The method can be used in connection with newly formed pavement surfaces or existing pavement which is to be resurfaced. The method includes the steps of providing a marking material to form recognizable indicia on a surface of pavement and applying the marking material to the surface to form such recognizable indicia. The method further includes the steps of providing a protective layer for protecting the recognizable indicia and positioning the protective layer over the recognizable indicia. Next a sealant is provided and applied to an area immediately adjacent the protective layer. The sealant is applied such that its thickness is substantially equal to the thickness of the recognizable indicia. As such, the top surface of the recognizable indicia is in substantially the same plane as the top surface of the sealant.

Each of the ground engaging components is individually mounted to the frame by a frame connecting component. The frame connecting component is hingedly mounted to the frame so as to allow a relative pivotal movement between each of the frame connecting components and the frame in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the frame. The suspension system includes a first suspension member pivotally mounted to the frame. The first suspension member is free to pivot relatively to the frame about a first suspension member pivotal axis that is in a substantially transversal relationship with the frame.

  • Patent number: 5908184
Abstract: A clamping device for releasably hanging articles from an object. The device includes a pair of generally parallel plates having a pair of opposed and generally parallel side surfaces, biasing means to hold the plates together and to urge the opposed side surfaces toward one another, attachment means to secure the device to the object, and manually operable displacement means that, when engaged, overcomes the force of the biasing means and causes the plates to be displaced apart from one another so as to receive an article therebetween. When the manually operable displacement means is disengaged, the biasing means urges the plates toward one another such that the article is secured between the opposed side surfaces. The manually operable displacement means may be comprised of a pair of wedges positioned on opposite ends of the plates.
