Abstract: Disclosed is an electrical box extension that includes an extending member for switch and/or plug mounting having one or more fastening brackets, one or more base fastening brackets and one or more fasteners that together with optional contact points provide for mechanical and electrical connectivity between the extending member and its associated electrical box and provide sufficient mechanical resistance to support the adjustable elevation of the elevating member thereby supporting a flush surface for surface mounted sockets, switches and their associated plates.

Abstract: An apparatus and method is presented presented to provide wide dynamic range measurements of the input phase to a time domain multiplex interferometer array using a dual slope modulation method for interrogation. Features of the present invention include a topology capable of using only single mode fiber components and self-correcting processing approaches that reduce measurement errors providing high accuracy measurements and significantly reducing the cost of interrogation.

Abstract: A distributed amplifier for wide-band, high power application is disclosed. The amplifier consists of an analysis module, a gain module and a synthesis module. In the analysis and synthesis modules, inductors such as transmission lines are connected to gain elements of the gain modules with a newly disclosed “pi” configuration, by which the number of inductors, or transmission lines, is reduced. This invention may be applied to wide-band and high-speed communications.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an interactive infant or child blanket with a tactile apparatus for removably attaching small toys such as pacifiers, teethers, rattles, and developmental toys. The invention also includes an apparatus for removably attaching the blanket itself to other objects such as a highchairs, baby bouncers, infant swings, car seats, strollers, or shopping carts, for play control and stability. The novel attachment system allows a child to play on the go without the hassle of dropping or soiling play objects, thereby minimizing the chance of loss or exposure to germs. The blanket preferably comes packaged in a matching bag that can also carry toy attachments and perhaps a bottle and/or diapers, providing parents with a small “baby to-go” bag for quick errands and trips. In another embodiment, the retention blanket includes a blanket adapted to engage a wheelchair as required by elderly and handicap persons.

Abstract: A method of external genital cleansing and prophylactic kit are disclosed. The kit includes wipes having topical microbicides, personal lubricants, sterile water or sterile water-based solutions disposed on or impregnated therein. The wipes are packaged in conjunction with a condom and when used in accordance with the teaching of this invention work to inhibit transmission of STDs particularly including HIV. Wipes provided in the kit may be used to cleanse the external portions of the genitals before application of the provided condom. After removal of the condom, one or more wipes are to be used to cleanse the external portions of the genitals.

Abstract: A circuit for a variable gain amplifier is disclosed that uses two differential gain stages with independently adjustable bias currents. By changing the bias currents of the gain stages, the overall gain and phase of the amplifier can be adjusted over a wide range. Neither in-series nor in-parallel circuitry is required to implement or perform gain control. In addition to minimal part requirements for mechanization, the present invention features low power supply requirements while maintaining a wide operational bandwidth.

Abstract: A portable shade assembly for vehicle that includes an elongated, wide fabric sunscreen member having weights provided along the bottom of the opposed shorter side edges thereof, and a number of gap-producing spacer members, of cylindrical or elongated polyhedral shape, attached to the vehicle-facing surface of the sunscreen; each of the spacer members includes an attachment strap extending from each end thereof that are adapted to be secured between a proximate door and its door jam of a vehicle such that when the door of the vehicle is in the closed position, the sunscreen members is secured to the vehicle.
