  • Patent number: 6698125
Abstract: The present invention features a firearm safety mechanism with an improved trigger pull, wherein the weight of the safety mechanism is not on the trigger when the hammer is in the “full cock” position. The advancement presented in the present invention serves to separate the trigger from the trigger bar during the period when the trigger is pulled. As a result, the weight of the safety mechanism is not borne by the trigger while the hammer is fully cocked. This is accomplished by providing means for positioning the transfer bar into the extended position free from contact with the trigger. The present invention further features means, dependent upon the trigger, for facilitating the relocation of the transfer bar from its extended position into a retracted position upon release of the trigger subsequent to discharge of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 6660131
Abstract: The present invention features a coke drum de-heading system that provides unique advantages over prior art de-heading systems, namely the de-heading of a coke drum without having to physically remove the head units. This is essentially accomplished using a specially designed dual seated, linear motion goggle blind gate valve, or de-header valve, that is removably coupled to and seals against the flanged portion of a coke drum much the same way a conventional head unit would be attached. The de-header valve is equipped with, among other things, a sliding blind that is contained and capable of moving within an upper and a lower seat, wherein one of such seats is a floating dynamic, live loaded seat that is capable of automatic adjustment through one or more loading zones so as to seal the blind between the upper and lower seats.

  • Patent number: 6655099
Abstract: A clip is used to fasten a wall panel to a frame rail. The clip is fitted to the rail and has paul-like tabs which locate in apertures in a side wall of the rail. Corresponding apertures are provided on the edge of the wall. When the edge of the wall is inserted into the clip, the pawl-like tabs snap-fit through the apertures and into the apertures, thereby captively retaining the wall to the rail. Alternatively, the clip may be formed integrally with a rail by pressing out a flap from a side wall of the rail. Each flap has a pawl-like indent. Corresponding apertures are provided on the edge of a wall sheet. When the edge of the wall sheet is inserted between the flaps and the rail, the pawl-like indents locate in the apertures, thereby captively retaining the wall sheets to the rail.

  • Patent number: 6598724
Abstract: A wheel hub (10), primarily for a wheelchair wheel, can be manually operated by rotating a cover (168) to give three different operating states for the wheel which includes the hub. In the first position, the wheel is free to rotate relative to the chair. In the second position, the wheel is locked to the chair, i.e. the chair is braked. In the third position, the wheel can turn in the direction corresponding to forward motion of the chair, but cannot rotate in the opposite direction. This prevents the wheelchair from undesired backward rolling movement.

  • Patent number: 6528086
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus and method of drug delivery on a human body surface. The formulation comprises a drug, a conversion agent capable of converting the formulation from a less solid phase to a coherent, soft, solid phase, and a vehicle medium or carrier for the drug and conversion agent. The drug formulation is applied to this human body surface in its less than solid phase and is subsequently converted to a soft solid phase while the drug is being delivered through the human body surface. After delivery of the drug is complete, the soft solid formulation can be removed or peeled from the body surface as a coherent solid formulation. The drug formulation provides control over drug delivery rates and allows the formulation to be removed without leaving a messy, residual formulation on the body surface.
