  • Patent number: 6627138
Abstract: A slag cement mixture and process of making the same is disclosed. The slag cement mixture is composed of cupola slag and portland cement. The cupola slag is optionally ground granulated. One embodiment of the process includes rapidly quenching the slag by submersion into water or by spraying water onto it, and grinding the resulting product to achieve a fineness of at least 6,000 cm2/g. The process also includes the addition of 35% ground granulated cupola slag to portland cement to achieve a stronger and harder cement than portland cement alone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 1, 2002
Date of Patent: September 30, 2003
Inventors: Willie W. Stroup, Randy D. Stroup, James H. Fallin
  • Patent number: 6627240
Abstract: Methods and devices are presented for the continuous, in-line marinating, flavoring, and freeze-processing meat. The methods involve injecting meat with a first set of ingredients, coating the meat with a second set of ingredients, spraying meat with a third set of ingredients, freezing the surface of the meat, freezing the meat throughout, and submerging the meat in a fourth set of ingredients.

  • Patent number: 6495372
Abstract: A test method and apparatus for determining the content of carboxylic acid-based corrosion inhibitors in a coolant or heat exchange fluid. The amount of acidic reagent added to the coolant or fluid between two pH equilibrium points is measured to determine the amount of inhibitors. The refractive index can be measured to determine the amount of freezing point depressant.
