Abstract: A tool holder for a power tool, in particular a drilling and/or hammering tool comprising a manually actuable sleeve (40) wherein components of the tool holder are held within the sleeve by a snap ring (100) which snap ring is fitted within the sleeve. The snap ring has at least one resilient arm (102) and the sleeve has a corresponding number of through holes (105) which extend to a radially outwardly facing surface of the sleeve, arranged such that the or each arm is engageable with a corresponding through hole in a snap fit. Each arm and through hole cooperate so that the portion (104) of the or each arm which can be viewed from the radially outwardly facing surface of the sleeve appears in the shape of a symbol. Thus, the snap ring (100) has the dual function of maintaining components, such as a locking ring (42) within the sleeve (40) and of providing an external indication to a user of how to actuate the sleeve.
Abstract: An external surface of a spindle is formed with tapering grooves which become narrower in a direction towards the forward end of the spindle. A slider sleeve is provided with splines which also taper in a forward direction. In this way, the slider sleeve is prevented from rotating relative to the spindle, but can slide axially. A rearward end of the slider sleeve includes a recess containing an elastomeric O-ring. When the drive torque exceeds a predetermined threshold, inclined surfaces of the mutually engaging teeth on the spindle drive gear and slider sleeve slide over each other, as a result of which the drive gear slides forwardly along the slider sleeve against the action of a spring. The spindle drive gear can then rotate relative to the slider sleeve and the cooperating sets of teeth ratchet over each other, preventing spindle drive gear being from rotating the spindle.
Abstract: A frame for a portable power sander, the frame convertible into a stand for supporting the power sander in a stationary orientation wherein the abrasive belt is accessible, said frame comprising: a base; a leg connectable to the base, and a fence assembly connectable to the base.

Abstract: An accessory system, such as a dust collection system (40) of a hand held power tool, such as a drilling and/or hammering tool comprising, the tool, an accessory unit (40) comprising a separate motor for powering the unit and releasably mountable on the tool, and a battery pack (4). When the accessory unit is not required, the battery pack can be mounted directly on the tool for powering to tool and when the accessory unit is required the battery pack can be mounted on the accessory unit for powering the accessory unit and, when the accessory unit is mounted on the tool, for powering the tool via the accessory unit.
Abstract: An electrically powered rotary hammer includes a first switchable gear arrangement for actuating the hammering mechanism and a second switchable gear arrangement for actuating the rotary drive mechanism. The hammer includes a mode change knob, a linkage support, a first linkage slideably supported in the linkage support between the mode change knob and the first switchable gear arrangement and a second linkage slideably supported in the linkage support between the mode change knob and the second switchable gear arrangement. The mode change knob moves the linkages between three positions, a drilling only mode position in which the second switchable gear arrangement only is in its actuating position, a hammer drilling mode in which both the first and second gear arrangements are in their actuating positions, and a hammering only mode position in which the first switchable gear arrangement only is in its actuating position.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a suitcase style air compressor assembly having an extensible handle bar assembly and a wheel assembly. When the extensible handle bar assembly is fully extended, the suitcase style air compressor assembly may be transported by utilizing the extensible handle bar assembly and the wheel assembly. When the suitcase style air compressor assembly reaches a worksite, the extensible handle bar assembly may be retracted so that the suitcase style air compressor assembly does not occupy a large space.
