  • Patent number: 6438446
Abstract: A programmable command module for inputting a surface foot rating parameter into a device for controlling the spindle speed of a cutting tool. Based upon the surface foot rating, the proper speed of the spindle is determined with respect to a particular cutting tool parameter, such as the tool's diameter. The spindle speed setting is transmitted to an AC inverter which in turn controls the operation of an AC motor for rotating the spindle at its proper speed. Alternatively, a second embodiment of the present invention would include a programmed memory provided with the surface foot rating of a plurality of materials. Once the type of material, the type of tool operation, as well as the diameter of the cutting tool is inputted into this embodiment, the proper RPM speed of the spindle would be determined.

  • Patent number: 5608803
Abstract: A programmable customized universal digital listening system is provided with one or more digital signal processor chips which are implemented as one or more digital filters whose parameters are established by one or more erasable programmable read-only memories (EPROMs). The information included in the EPROMs directed to the parameters of the digital filters are determined based upon the user's response to various audio signals provided from an audiologist. Based upon these responses, the EPROMs are programmed. Additionally, this listening system is provided with an additional digital filter which changes its responses based upon the frequency of any background noise.

  • Patent number: 5582287
Abstract: A zero-pressure accumulating conveyor including a bed defined by rotatable rollers mounted in parallel sidewalls and powered by an endless drive chain. Pneumatic actuators lift the drive chain into engagement with the rollers to empower same. Sensor rollers divide the bed into distinct zones. Sensor rollers are retained in operative position relative to the conveyor bed by unique sensor brackets. A primary sensor roller bracket includes a bore with a piston movable there within; the cooperating secondary sensor roller bracket is spring biased in a first direction. Valves, and pneumatic circuitry controlled by such valves, extend along the length of the conveyor. Such valves are operated by the primary sensor roller brackets to regulate the flow of air pressure into the bores of the brackets and into the actuators. The actuators, when the pressure therein is bled-off, allow the chain in a particular zone to drop out of contact with the rotatable rollers.

  • Patent number: 5481965
Abstract: A rack and screen assembly for converting gas grilles into charcoal and/or wood burning stations. The assembly is fabricated from high temperature stainless steel, so that the assembly, when heated to its cooking temperature, retains such elevated temperature for an extended period of time. The rack includes an open frame with runner legs at its lower end, that sit atop the cylindrical tubes of conventional gas grilles. Braces extend transversely across the open frame to reinforce same, and ledges are defined at the upper ends of the open frame. The perforated metal screen is inserted into the upper end of the frame until the screen rests upon the ledges. When the screen is damaged, or wears out, the damaged screen is lifted out of the frame and replaced, manually, in a simple fashion and without resort to manual tools.

  • Patent number: 5052138
Abstract: Several embodiments of ammunition supply indicating systems for firearms are disclosed. Each system (1) counts, either automatically or manually, the number of rounds in a magazine introduced into the firearm, (2) detects the movement of a reciprocally movable slide in the firearm to increment a count of "one" for the round entering the firing chamber, and (3) electronically combines the two digits, and (4) displays same on a display panel. The display panel is situated in a thin housing secured to the firearm along the line of sight of the user. A running total of the number of rounds remaining in the firearm is visible to the user. Slide movement may be detected by magnetic, mechanical, optical, or electrical devices, while the number of rounds remaining in the magazine may be monitored by position switches operated by the follower within the magazine.

  • Patent number: 4940856
Abstract: An electrical connector for connecting a first conductor to a second conductor. The electrical connector includes a generally C-shaped body which defines first and second conductor receiving cavities for accomodating the respective conductors. The body member is provided with an opening communicating with the conductor receiving cavities, by means of which the condutors are adapted to be positioned within the cavities. An integral hingedly connected retaining member is associated with one of the conductor receiving cavities whereby, once a conductor has been placed in the latter cavity, the retaining member may be manually rotated to a position wherein it secured the condcutor in the cavity. The connector is then intended to be placed over a second conductor, such that the second conductor is received in the other conductor receiving cavity. The connector is adapted to be compressed, by means of a compression tool, so as to substantially close the opening in the body member.
