Abstract: An expandable drinking and mixing straw apparatus that can be compactly stored and expanded when necessary to provide a deployed dual-functionality mixing and drinking apparatus. The several embodiments of the straw apparatus provide a unified apparatus as well as functionally equivalent embodiments with two straw sub-component members defined by an outer straw and an inner straw which sub-component members are bonded together at specified locations. When force is applied to the undeployed straw apparatus, a plurality of veins expands from the apparatus to provide mixing functionality without compromising suction functionality. Straw sub component bonding, vein bending and stopping, and method of deployment of the drinking and mixing straw apparatus are disclosed.
Abstract: Golf club heads are described. The present invention is directed to golf club heads that have a thicker and heavier top line region and a thinner and lighter sole region than conventional designs. The novel golf club heads of the invention have a low tendency to get stuck in turf, change the face angle upon impact providing a stronger hitting position, increase the club head speed, and provide straighter and increased flight distance. Golf club irons, fairway woods, and driver are provided.
Abstract: Continuously variable speed power transmission with and without integrated motor/generator components. The transmission has an input member rotatable about an input axis, an output member rotatable about an output axis, a reaction control rotor with optional integrated motor/generator components for selective rotation about the input axis, a pericyclic motion converter mounted for pericyclic motion about the input axis, and a control means for selectively adjusting the rate of rotation of the reaction control rotor relative to the input member. A bevel gear construction is a preferred embodiment of the transmission. A method for varying speed ratios using pericyclic motion is described.
Abstract: Continuously variable speed power transmission with integrated motor/generator components. The transmission has an input member rotatable about an input axis, an output member rotatable about an output axis, a reaction control rotor with integrated motor/generator components for selective rotation about the input axis, a pericyclic motion converter mounted for nutational motion about the input axis, and a control means for selectively adjusting the rate of rotation of the reaction control rotor relative to the input member. The continuously variable speed power transmission with integrated motor/generator components can be located in a vehicle wheel hub.
