Abstract: A carpet mat assembly with shock absorbing properties includes a mat made of closed cell foam sections. The mat sections are sized to be readily portable, preferably 4 foot by 6 foot in size. The mat thickness is selected to conform to ASTM F1292-99. Preferably, the mat thickness is 1⅛″ thick. The mat section may be coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive covering on one side of the mat. The pressure sensitive adhesive is covered with a removable liner. The liner is removed to expose the pressure sensitive adhesive. Carpet is applied to the coated surface of the mat and the pressure sensitive adhesive bonds the carpet to the mat. The outer perimeters of each mat may be lined with a hook and pile fastener such as 3M Velcro® for attaching multiple sections of the carpet mat assembly securely together.

Abstract: A gas or electrically heated kiln furnace in which the hearth is stationary and an outer shell or wall with a door for access rotates around a stationary hearth. Loading and unloading is accomplished by rotating the outer shell to align the door with a position where a workpiece is to be inserted or removed. The kiln can be used as an up draft or down draft kiln, as a single chamber or a progressive chamber kiln. This kiln uses minimum floor space in that a circular shell is not rolled back but rotated about a hearth, around a vertical axis.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for combiningly performing four important exercises localized to the lower back with the addition of weight resistance: a) the rotation or torsion of the lower spine and the lower back muscles; b) the bending of the spine forward and the exercising of abdominal muscles; c) the bending of the spine rearward and the exercising of the lumbar and erector muscles; d) the stretching and self-postural adjustment of the spine. The user performs the four exercises in the horizontal position with both legs in raised position. A swinging member accommodates the legs and allows the swinging, side-to-side motion of the legs. A second pivotal member helps the bending of the pelvis forward and rearward. A roller support assembly supports and massages the entire back during exercises. The user's body rests on an anatomical cushion support during exercises.

Abstract: A golf swing indicator having a base to be attached to the upper arm of a golfer and having a flexible pointer extending outwardly from the base and detachably secured to the base. A strap is provided to attach the indicator to the user's arm. The indicator may be used on the user's forward or rearward arm and will indicate proper and improper swings.

Abstract: A basketball court is disclosed, having a circle on the floor under each goal hoop to clearly designate the area under the hoop. This is a critical matter in the playing and refereeing of the game, in the determination by players and referees whether or not the defensive player is directly under the hoop, and therefore may be subject to being call for a foul in the case of contact between offensive and defensive players.

Abstract: A horseshoe for pitching for recreation and in National Horseshoe Pitchers Association of America competition, wherein lugs or calks on top of a first horseshoe near the heel points can engage and shoulder against raised surfaces on the bottom of a second horseshoe positioned atop the first horseshoe. An alternate feature positions the transverse center of balance nearer the heel end of the horseshoe than prior art.

Abstract: A horizontal well completion apparatus and method for heavy, viscous oil in a producing zone (114) are disclosed using a single well. Hot injection fluid is injected into an injection string (120), and emitted through steam distribution holes (133) in the lower portion (120) of the injection string into the casing (116) near perforations (118). A packer (126) separates the upper well annulus (140) from the lower well annulus (142) Insulation (121) surrounds injection tubing string (120) between the packer (126) and the well head (111). Perforations (118) in the horizontal portion (112) of the well allow heated oil to flow into the lower annulus 42 in the horizontal portion (112) of the well where is picked up by the injected fluid and lifted to the surface of the well by a jet pump (128). Temperature and pressure in the lower well annulus (142) are controlled by the temperature and pressure of the injection fluid, and the pumping rate of the produced fluids.

Abstract: This invention is a combination seat cushion for use for example at sporting events or contests. A hand hole is provided which makes the cushion convenient to carry to and from a sporting or other event. In order to demonstrate enthusiasm for a particular contestant or team, the item is held overhead for use as a portable, handheld display sign or billboard. An imprint might be used for showing support for a particular race car and driver. The faces of the cushion may be imprinted with insignia of a team such as a university or professional football team. An imprint might be used to show support for a ball team. An alternate embodiment has a hand hole adapted to receive a beverage cup. An alternate embodiment is useful for display of a long word or a series of words wherein the long dimensions of the cushion and display are horizontal. Another alternate embodiment is elongated for use by two or more users.

Abstract: A horizontal well completion apparatus and method for heavy, viscous oil in a producing zone (14) are disclosed using a single well. Hot injection fluid is injected into an injection string (20), reduced to a lower pressure by passing the injection fluid through a choke (22). A packer (26) separates the upper well annulus (40) from the lower well annulus (42). Insulation (21) surrounds injection tubing string (20) between the packer (26) and the well head (11). Perforations (18) in the horizontal portion (12) of the well allow heated oil to flow into the lower annulus 42 in the horizontal portion (12) of the well where is picked up by the injected fluid and lifted to the surface of the well by a jet pump (28). Temperature and pressure in the lower well annulus 42 are controlled by the temperature and pressure of the injection fluid, and the pumping rate of the produced fluids.

Abstract: A hole locator for use by installers of electrical fixtures is disclosed. The locator comprises a tapered shank of light conducting material having means at a first end to pierce a hole in a panel such as a ceiling. The tapered shank wedges in the pierced hole to hold the locator in place. A light source in the second end provides light through the length of the hole locator so the installer can easily find the locator from the opposite side of the panel. An eye or a hook in the first end provides means for pulling a wire or a pull string through the hole when the locator is withdrawn from the pierced hole.

Abstract: A headrest suitable to be mounted on a vertical surface such as a rear window for vehicles is disclosed. At least one layer of plastically deformable material and at least one layer of resilient material is used to provide energy absorptive protection for the vehicle occupant's head. Vertical position adjustment may be provided on a transparent backing plate. Various signals and insignia may be inscribed on the side of the backing plate mounted toward a window.

Abstract: There is disclosed a fuel treatment device for internal combustion engines comprising a housing having an inlet and an exit, a first metallic core in the housing, a second metallic housing in the housing and adapted to form a non-linear flow path in cooperation with the first metallic core, wherein the first metallic core comprises aluminum, and wherein the second metallic housing comprises an alloy of aluminum, copper, tin, zinc, iron, nickel, lead, sulfur and phosphorus.
