  • Patent number: 4443936
Abstract: A contact is bulk fed into the side of a guide block where it is raised up into a crimping head. A sectioned funnel guides wire ends into the positioned contact, after which the sections move apart to permit bottoming of the wires in the contact, and then the contact is crimped to the wire.

  • Patent number: 4436007
Abstract: A stack of strips of feed stock are placed on an adjustable height table. The strips are positioned on the table by arms which align the stack to the centerline of punching dies in a punch press. A pneumatic actuated head uses vacuum cups to raise the end of the top strip and insert it into in-feed rolls. The drive means for the in-feed rolls also drive an encoder which signals roll movement as the rolls incrementally feed the stock into the punch press. Drive means for the feed stock switches to the out-feed rolls once the blanked out stock reaches those rolls, and when the end of the strip passes through the punch press, a control unit is signaled and a new strip is fed into the system.

  • Patent number: 4432514
Abstract: A pressure relief device extends between the double side walls of a passenger compartment of an airplane to communicate with an adjacent cargo compartment. A duct is formed between a perforated section of an inside wall and a panel extending from the inside to the outside wall. A spring closing, pivotally mounted valve extends across to close off the duct and has perforations to permit air flow through the closed valve at low pressure differential between the compartments, but the valve will open at sudden high differential pressures.

  • Patent number: 4400884
Abstract: A U-shaped checking fixture has the legs of a "U" extending vertically upward. A series of measuring probes extend horizontally and laterally inward a measured amount from one of the legs and the ends of the probe define a contour of the skin to be checked. A skin is suspended essentially vertically alongside the measuring probes, another set of matching probes on the other leg of the U-shaped fixture force the skin against the measuring probes and any out of tolerance part of the skin is recorded.

  • Patent number: 4399675
Abstract: A plurality of gimbal mounted wheels are located to protrude slightly above an alignment table to support a work piece. A pair of electro-optical scanners are located above the table to locate a marked bend line on the work piece with respect to a die in an adjacent press brake. The scanner signals for wheel alignment and to drive units located in each half of the alignment table to selectively drive the wheels and move the work piece bend line into position in the press brake. An alternate drive actuates the wheels when the wheels are aligned for maximum rotation.

  • Patent number: 4395450
Abstract: A resin impregnated woven fabric extends the length of a joint with a pair of spaced apart panels intersecting and interwoven with an intermediate laterally extending panel. A reinforcing core extends between the spaced apart panels on one side of the laterally extending panel. Three cores are located on the other side of the laterally extending panel. The intermediate core of the three is located between the two spaced apart panels and is reinforced to provide torsional load resistance. The other two cores are reinforced to provide varying load bearing properties in a spanwise direction.

  • Patent number: 4393987
Abstract: A superplastically formed structure is prepared from a grid patterned core material that is joined to a plate by diffusion bonding or by welding to alternate joint locations on one side and at each of the other joint locations to a plate on the other side of the core. The joined core and plates are then formed by superplastic forming.

  • Patent number: 4364533
Abstract: A window access assembly sized to contact the inside surface around the periphery of an opening in a sidewall panel and to extend outward through the opening and make sealing contact with an outside structural window. A support member on the backside of the panel provides a pivot surface for rotating the assembly into position where the assembly is fastened to a structural member secured to the backside of the panel.

  • Patent number: 4348806
Abstract: A pair of feeder bowls are placed one above the other to simultaneously feed two different types of wire contacts onto two different tracks, and into separate alignment openings in a guide block. A pivotally mounted crimper is selectively moved to position the crimper head over the selected alignment opening. A rod extending from the crimper automatically positions a selector bar to actuate a plunger rod to move the selected contact into position to be crimped.
