  • Patent number: 7190584
Abstract: A retainer (20) for a heat sink includes a supporting member (22), a bracket member (24), a pair of locking members (26) and an operating member (28). The supporting member defines a pair of openings (222) at opposite ends thereof. The bracket member is located above the supporting member and has a pair of abutting portions (246) extending therefrom. The locking members respectively pass through the openings of the supporting member and are pivotably attached to the bracket member. Each locking member has a spring portion (264) depressed on one of said abutting portions to maintain the locking member at a releasing position. The operating member is pivotable relative to the bracket member to cause the bracket member and the associated locking members to move upward and the supporting member to drive the locking members to turn toward each other to a locking position.

  • Patent number: 7091947
Abstract: An apparatus for prolonging lamp lifetime by reducing luminance of a least one lamp (5) in phases includes an image signal outputting unit (1), a scaler (2), and a Microprogrammed Control Unit (MCU) (4). The MCU further includes a CPU (41), a timer (42), and a memory (43). The image signal outputting unit outputs image signals to the scaler. The MCU detects in real-time statuses of the image signals being input to the scaler. The timer records each elapsed time “Tn” during which no image signal is input to the scaler. The CPU compares the elapsed time “Tn” with preset times stored in the memory, and sends a control signal to the scaler according to the comparison result. The scaler generates PWM waves with a corresponding duty cycle according to the control signal, in order to control the luminance of the lamp. A related method for prolonging lamp lifetime is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7086144
Abstract: A mounting apparatus for mounting a CPU (53) in a socket (52), includes a base (20), a plurality of resilient members (300) respectively disposed at opposite sides of the base and a movement unit (40) having a pressing portion (402) received in the base which moves vertically with respect to the base. The base includes a concave (201) defined in a bottom thereof for receiving the CPU therein. The resilient members cooperate with each other to locate the CPU within the base. The pressing portion is provided to push the CPU off the base so as to vertically mount the CPU into the socket. The base includes projection portions (221, 233) to be received in slots (521, 523) in the socket.

  • Patent number: 7079382
Abstract: A mounting mechanism includes a computer chassis (90), a bracket (10) defining a pair of slideways (14, 16) in a sidewall (11) thereof for receiving corresponding sliding members (44) of a storage device (40), a power supply (80) rotatably attached in the computer chassis, and a hook (60, 60?) pivotally attached to the sidewall of the bracket. The hook is for retaining the sliding members of the storage device in the slideways of the bracket. The power supply is rotated to engage the bracket and the hook thereby securing the storage device in the bracket.
