Abstract: A combined cycle wherein part of the gas turbine exhaust gas stream is recycled to the gas turbine and the remainder of the gas turbine exhaust gas stream is expelled from the cycle. The power output of the combined cycle is increased by increasing fraction of gas turbine exhaust gas that is recycled to the gas turbine and the power output of the combined cycle is reduced by reducing the fraction of gas turbine exhaust gas that is recycled to the gas turbine.
Abstract: A process for recovering hydrogen from a stream comprised of hydrogen, non-condensable gases, and propane and lighter hydrocarbons, wherein the process comprises the steps of stripping hydrogen and non condensable gases out of the feed light ends stream with methane vapor, washing the stripped hydrogen stream with liquid methane to absorb the non condensable gases, and washing the hydrogen stream with a hydrocarbon lean oil such as liquid ethane to absorb methane, to produce the product hydrogen stream.
Abstract: A combined cycle process for generating electric power wherein the working fluid fed to the steam turbine train is water above its critical pressure and temperature.
Preferred embodiments include: reheating steam side streams extracted from the steam turbine train in the heat recovery unit and feeding the reheated steam side streams back into the steam turbine train; firing supplemental fuel gas in the gas turbine exhaust gas stream flowing through the heat recovery unit at one or more points to increase the power output of the steam turbine train; and diverting part of the condensate stream around the economizer tubes in the heat recovery unit to a separate heat exchanger where the diverted condensate stream is heated with steam side streams extracted from the steam turbine train.
Abstract: A process for a steam turbine-generator system that includes a boiler and a train of steam turbines and a gas turbine generator system. Exhaust gas from the gas turbine superheats the high pressure steam produced by the boiler in the steam generator system and reheats a steam side stream extracted at an intermediate point on the steam turbine train in the steam generator system after which the reheated steam side stream is fed back into the steam turbine train downstream of the extraction point. Further, the exhaust gas preheats a steam condensate stream formed by condensing the exhaust steam from the downstream steam outlet on the steam turbine train after which the preheated condensate is recycled back to the boiler. The gas turbine exhaust gas superheats the high pressure steam and reheats the steam side stream before it preheats the steam condensate stream.
