Abstract: A system and method for generating a digital certificate is provided wherein a new digital record is received and is assigned a sequence value. A first composite digital value is generated by applying a first deterministic function to the digital records stored in a repository. The sequence value and first composite digital value are included in a first certificate. After the digital record is added to the repository, a second composite digital value is generated by applying a second deterministic function to the digital records in the repository. This second composite digital value, and a composite sequence value, are published. An interval digital value which is based upon the first and second composite digital values, and the sequence value, are included in a second certificate which thus verifies the authenticity and sequence value of the digital record.

Abstract: A rotating machine has a stator and a permanent magnet rotor that is more easily made, lower cost, and lighter by virtue of a plurality of permanent magnet assemblies mounted on a rotor body. Each magnet assembly includes two facing core plate stacks supporting a permanent magnet between them. Each core plate stack is made from a plurality of core plates of substantially identical size and shape and with on or more holes in substantially the same location to form respective bores in the stack. A tie rod is formed in each bore and retains the plates in a stack via bevels in the holes of the end plates. Preferably, the tie rods also apply compressive force as a result of placing the stacked plates in an injection mold, injecting plastic into the mold to fill each bore with plastic, and allowing the plastic to cure. As the plastic cures, it shrinks so that the tie rods pull the end plates together. To enhance the pressure, the stacked plates can be compressed before and during the injection process.

The player designates the amount of the wager, the particular outcomes on which the wager is contingent, and how many tables are covered by the wager. A control system automatically selects one or more tables across which the wager is based. The selection may be based on location of the player relative to the tables, impending outcomes from the tables, or other criteria as desired.

Abstract: This invention relates to a “high lower alcohol content” (>40% v/v of a C1-4 alcohol) liquid composition able to be dispensed as a stable foam with the use of non-propellant foam dispensing devices from non-pressurized containers. The liquid compositions comprise a C1-4 alcohol, (>40% v/v), a silicone-based surfactant of at least 0.001% by weight for foaming to prepare a foamable composition, 0-10% w/w of additional minor components added to obtain the desired performance (a foamable composition), and the balance being purified water. The compositions may include emulsifier-emollients and mosturizers, secondary surfactants, foam stabilizers, fragrances, antimicrobial agents, other type of medicinal ingredients, and the like ingredients or additives or combinations thereof commonly added to alcohol gels or foams, aerosol compositions or to toiletries, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and the like.

Abstract: A method for pre-determining an underwater objects GPS position using a forward scan sonar unit linked to a boat trolling motor, magnetic compass and GPS receiver. This system determines the underwater objects GPS position using the objects distance, compass heading and a GPS receiver/sonar on a boat. This system will provide real time longitude and latitude positions of underwater objects seen with sonar at a distance from a boat, and will allow for precise autopilot navigation or fixed position fishing. The system can also be used to correct for GPS errors when using previously stored waypoints positions of an object. The computer determines an objects underwater GPS position using a forward scan sonar transducer and compass mounted on a 360 degree movable mechanism such as a trolling motor unit, and formulates the objects position based on the distance and heading of the object in relation to the boats current GPS position.

Abstract: In various embodiments, the gaming system, gaming device, and gaming method disclosed herein utilizes a single display device to display at least one event indicator which conveys information that is otherwise displayed over a plurality of display devices. In one embodiment, the gaming system employs a multiple layered display device, wherein at least one layer of the display device displays the play of the primary game and at least one layer of the display device displays one or more event indicators. Such event indicators indicate information regarding the play of a secondary game displayed on a secondary display device. Such a configuration alleviates the player from having to frequently look up at the secondary display to determine information regarding the play of the secondary game and then look back down to the primary display to view the play of the primary game.

When an indicator or designator symbol is generated and displayed, the indicator or designator symbol indicates at least one symbol display area as a modification symbol display area. Upon at least one subsequent generation of symbols displayed in the symbol display areas, awards associated with symbols displayed in the modification symbol display areas are modified.

Abstract: A gaming system where in one embodiment, as players play the primary games of the gaming devices, players are enabled to join one of a plurality of teams associated with a secondary team game. Each of the teams includes a plurality of players. The gaming system periodically monitors at least one factor or parameter of each player's gaming activity to determine a score for that player. In one embodiment, the scores for each of the players on each team are accumulated to determine that team's cumulative score. If a team's cumulative score reaches a winning value, the gaming system provides a prize to one or more of the players on that team. The gaming system enables players to switch from one team to another in attempt to be on a particular team when that team's cumulative score reaches a winning value.

The apparatus comprises at least one spring connected to an umbrella pole so that the spring(s) is extended or retracted when the pole angle of the umbrella is adjusted. The apparatus also comprises a pivot between an umbrella holder and a bracket that allows angular motion of the umbrella pole. The apparatus also comprises a rotary bearing capable of rotating around an axis of the umbrella pole. The spring(s) and the pivot can be connected to the rotary bearing. The present apparatus can also include a shade umbrella. Methods for tilting an umbrella are also provided.
