  • Patent number: 5191615
Abstract: Movable and audible toys and other animated devices spaced apart from a television screen are provided with program synchronized audio and control data to interact with the program viewer in relationship to the television program. A sampling keyboard-based encoder for kinetic device actuating signals is coupled via an audio mixer to an audiovisual programming source and television transmitter carrying an audio based kinetic and audio signal complex. At a remote location, coded audio and kinetic device signals along with audiovisual programming is received and the audiovisual programming content is displayed for viewing and listening. Stereo soundband based program audio signals are decoded and separated from the stereo sound band based device audio and kinetic signals. The device audio and kinetic signals are retransmitted to a spaced apart toy causing the device to be audible and move in synchronization with the spaced apart audiovisual programming.

  • Patent number: 4881353
Abstract: A toilet cubicle having a pair of post engaging side panels bracketed to a rear wall and a top headrail engaging the side panels have doors rotatably joined in spaced apart relationship to the posts. Each door is pivotally supported by a foot disposed in spaced relationship to the posts. The feet have a threaded insert supporting base receiving an adjustably threaded member, and a gravity hinge and door pivot supporting cap engaging the opposite end of the threaded member. A nut on the threaded member is movable to engage an upper surface of the base. The nut has a transverse thread for receiving a tapered end set screw to destructively engage the threads of the threaded member and fix the nominally open positioning of the door, and resist travel thereafter.

  • Patent number: 4868984
Abstract: A hair cutter has a vacuum source connected tubular barrel and an interior shaft mounted turbine assembly. The turbine assembly includes a turbine coupled to a flywheel which in turn is coupled to a rotary blade assembly. A stationary radially disposed blade arrangement engages the rotatory blade arrangement. A pivot shaft arrangement is supported on the inside of the barrel joined to a longitudinal movable sleeve for adjusting the positioning of the internal assembly and couples the turbine to the flywheel and the flywheel to the rotary blade assembly. The turbine is coupled to the rotary blade assembly to create a rotary force to both rotate the rotary blade against the fixed blade, and to enhance the scissors force of the rotatory blade against the first blade by longitudinally urging the rotary blade toward the turbine. A vacuum source coupled to the barrel drives the turbine at one end of the barrel and the blade assembly is disposed adjacent an opening at the opposite end of the barrel.

  • Patent number: 4842243
Abstract: Apparatus for molding hollow metalwood golf club heads of wax or other material with variations in the lie angle of the neck or hosel relative to the body of the club head, in which two molds with communicating mold cavities are supported for turning of one mold about a pivotal axis to change the angular relationship of the two cavities. The molds have arcuate abutting surfaces coaxial with the pivot for effective meeting relationships in the different positions, the hosel base being slightly oversize to accommodate the displacement, and two core pieces in the molds have part-spherical abutting surfaces, also coaxial with the pivot for effective "kissing off" of the parts. The movable mold is detented in one of eight different positions, in one-degree increments. Another embodiment produces solid-headed irons with selected different lie angles of the hosel, but with only one core piece, which is in the hosel mold.

  • Patent number: 4833823
Abstract: A potted plant support has a circular nominally laminar portion having a top potted plant supporting generally flat surface, a bottom and plural of areally spaced apart projections extending from the bottom of the laminar portion. The projections have staggered rounded conical co-terminus ends. The nominally laminar portions is vacuum formed of unitary construction. In another example, the laminar material is formed of continuous sheets which may be cut to desired configuration. The ends evenly impact on areally spaced apart and areally limited portions of flooring distributing the weight of the potted plant among the plural projections to provide air ventilation to reduce likelihood of mold, mildew, rust and discoloration.

  • Patent number: 4805895
Abstract: A theatrical imaging system for forming images where there are no image forming surfaces includes a theater having a raked audience viewing are in spaced apart relationship in front a stage. A false ceiling separates a motion picture projector and rear view projection screen, from the audience viewing area. The screen disposed above and in front of the audience provides a real image forming surface. A semi transmissive reflecting member disposed at an angle of 131/2 to 31 degrees to a vertical plane disposed normal to the average sight line of the audience member is disposed in facing relationship to the screen to generate a virtual image on the stage in the line of sight of the audience.

  • Patent number: 4797633
Abstract: An audio amplifier has a collapsible power supply coupled to an audio amplifier circuit to drive voltage rails of the power supply in an inverse relationship to the power consumed by the amplifier circuit. A variable gain input stage includes a linear potentiometer gain control followed by a gain stage and buffer to drive separate bass and treble controls, summed before appearing at the input of an integrated circuit amplifier. The main voltage amplification is provided by an integrated circuit, supplied with power by common base circuits to isolate the integrated circuit from power supply induced distortion. Staggered output stages are coupled to the output of the amplifier, the earlier stages having a longer duty cycle and light duty factor, while the later stages having a shorter duty cycle and heavier duty factor. A voltage doubler sensing power drawn by amplifier to modify voltage rails available at the output of the amplifier circuit.

  • Patent number: 4777784
Abstract: A horse tethering device cord has a central stretchable resilient core surrounded by a braided sheath and a loosely fitting protective plastic outer covering about the braided sheath. The core has a stretch length breaking point less than the stretch length breaking point of the sheath. The sheath and cord are attached to horse halter engaging clasps at one end and a bull snap at the other end. In use, a tethering device is used to keep a horse restrained to a hitching post. Movement by the horse from the hitching post causes stretching of the cord. If the horse exceeds the breakpoint of the central core, the core snaps, while the sheath remains intact.

  • Patent number: 4777022
Abstract: Chemical vapor deposition apparatus has a quartz envelope supporting a resistance heater. A boron nitride pill box configured core supports resistance heater windings. The core has a base having a cylindrical upper portion defining a hollow chamber and an upper annular ring. A circular top includes an upper circular portion and lower circular portion mating with the base. The annular ring surface is in thermal contact with the upper circular portion to transfer heat from the annular ring to the circular top. A zirconia insulator cups the core, providing heat insulation, in conjunction with a heat shield coating in the quartz envelope interior. Arrays of quartz envelope heaters provide for mass production of semiconductors. A horizontal configuration includes a laminar flow head and disposed at an angle to the horizontal.

  • Patent number: 4736214
Abstract: A three dimensional image generating system has a multiple adjacent image generating projector aimed at corresponding juxtaposed reflectors, one of which being substantially reflective and the other of which being partially transmissive and partially reflective. A third partially transmissive reflecting member is interposed between the juxtaposed reflectors and a viewing audience. A prop supporting rotatable stage is disposed before the audience and beyond the the third reflecting member. The third reflecting member transmits and reflects to the audience a composite image composed of the three dimensional image generated by the juxtaposed reflectors and the prop image passed through the third reflecting member.
