  • Patent number: 4300710
Abstract: A continuous fan-folded form feeder is applied to a copying machine and has a receiver for the folded form from which the form is trained over the top of the copying machine platen and then beneath the platen to the rear of the copying machine for engagement by form tractors to be progressively fed in stages beneath the platen to a re-fold tray. Drive means for the tractors feeds the form step-by-step in selected increments of length.

  • Patent number: 4298077
Abstract: An in-hole fluid motor has a stator connected with a fluid conduit and a rotor connected with a drive shaft for a bit to drill a bore hole as drilling fluid is circulated through the conduit and the stator, the fluid returning through the bore hole annulus to the top of the bore hole. A circulation valve between the stator and the fluid conduit is opened by the flow of fluid through the valve to by-pass the stator and allow flow of fluid into the annulus. The circulation valve is incorporated in a structure which allows the conduit to fill and dump during lowering in and removal from the fluid in the bore hole.

  • Patent number: 4295535
Abstract: An in-hole motor drill assembly has the rotor of the motor connected to the drill bit and a housing connected to the running string, and normally disengaged torque transmitting members between said housing and said drill bit provide for engaging said bit and running string for mutual rotation, by pulling on the running string. The torque transmitting members are locked in engagement, enabling the tension on the drill pipe string to be relieved, and the bit can be rotated by rotation of the drill pipe string in either direction. The usual pick-up bearing between the housing and the shaft provides an abutment for a releasable thrust transmitting member which normally holds the clutch disengaged.

  • Patent number: 4235435
Abstract: A sorting machine has sheet deflecting fingers actuatable from closed positions at one side of a sheet path to open positions, in succession, to remove sheets from a sheet transport and direct the sheets into trays. The fingers, in closed condition, span adjacent fingers, in nested relation, with surfaces of the fingers facing the transport lying on a plane parallel to the moving sheets and extending arcuately beneath the open finger below to assist in guiding a sheet into a tray.

  • Patent number: 4215016
Abstract: Exchanged zeolite of the faujasite type is produced by exchanging the sodium zeolite at super atmospheric pressures at temperatures below about 500.degree. F. with salt solutions in ratios of cations in excess of an equivalent of the cation per equivalent of the sodium in the zeolite.

  • Patent number: 4199201
Abstract: An in-hole, fluid driven motor has a stator and a rotor to drive a bore hole drilling bit. The bit is connected to the rotor by a drive shaft rotatable in a bearing housing connected to the stator, and drilling fluid flows through the drive shaft and exits through the bit. Radial and thrust bearings include a first bearing which transmits thrust from the housing to the bit, while drilling, and a second bearing which transmits thrust to the housing from the shaft, when the bit is off the bottom of the hole. An adjustable lock nut is connected to the drive shaft and a ported cap which connects the drive shaft to a connecting rod coupled with the rotor, and permits alternate unloading of the first and second bearings and the elimination of increased bearing tolerances as wear occurs.

  • Patent number: 4198104
Abstract: An adjustable stacked bearing assembly has a plurality of bearing sub-assemblies interposed between thrust shoulders on a housing and a shaft extending through the housing, each bearing sub-assembly being individually adjustable or assembled in a condition in which all tolerance is eliminated. The bearings transmit thrust and radially center the shaft in the housing. The stacked bearing assembly is disclosed for use with a fluid pressure operated in-hole motor drill, the specific motor being shown as being of the helicoidal type.

  • Patent number: 4174631
Abstract: A clinical thermometer device includes a body with means for reading out temperature electrically or electronically and a probe body supporting a pair of thermo-couple wires which are thin and of themselves not self-supporting, with the thermo-couple junction exposed at an end of the probe body. The probe is oriented with respect to a plug receptacle to establish correct polarity, or wires on the probe and contacts in the plug establish correct polarity regardless of orientation.

  • Patent number: 4133396
Abstract: Casing is run into a well bore hole on a running pipe string. Fluid motor and drill apparatus is supported in the casing, with the drill extending below the lower end of the casing to drill the bore hole in advance of the casing. For subsea drilling operations, the casing is suspended from a riser housing which lands on a subsea base, and the running pipe is released from the riser housing to enable retrieval of the motor and drill assembly. Plural motors are employed for drilling large holes.

  • Patent number: 4133558
Abstract: A misalignment connector for large pipelines includes an internal, metal seal ring having an external spherical surface which is axially and circumferentially loaded between opposed internal spherical metal surfaces of pipe connector hubs having parts engaged with holding means having spherical surfaces enabling the connector to be made up with the pipe connector hubs disposed over a range of angular misalignment and with the sealing ring loaded axially and inwardly when the connector body parts are secured together by the holding means to prevent relaxation of the preload on the sealing ring. The metal sealing ring is initially supported on one of the hubs by means enabling relative angular motion of the sealing ring as it is loaded between misaligned hubs. The hubs are provided with thrust surfaces enabling them to be initially preloaded against the sealing ring by a loading tool.

  • Patent number: 4133397
Abstract: A multiple in-hole motor and drill combination is disclosed for drilling a large diameter earth bore. The motor assembly is supported on a fluid circulating pipestring, and includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced longitudinally extended in-hole motor and drill combinations to which motor fluid is supplied through the running in pipestring, the motor fluid then passing through the rotary drill bit driven by the motor and returning to the top of the well. The plural in-hole motor drill assemblies are rotated during the drilling operation. A hydraulic drive motor powered by a separate fluid source is employed to rotate a housing to drive the multiple motor drill assemblies rotatably about the central support. The lower end of the multiple motor drill assembly supports a number of weights to apply drilling weight to the bits.
