  • Patent number: 5366621
Abstract: A chromatography column piston 14 is adjustable in height within the column tube 4 by means of a friction clamp 22 which furthermore includes a threaded engagement with the associated end cap 8 of the column. As a result, with the friction clamp released the piston rod 16 can be rapidly traversed to or near a desired position, and the clamp then engaged following which cooperation of said threads allows fine tuning of the level of the piston 14 by fine adjustment of the position of the friction clamp relative to the end cap 8.

  • Patent number: 5348583
Abstract: New set-accelerating admixtures for hydraulic cement compositions are disclosed. These admixtures incorporate known set accelerators and certain low molecular weight glycols, e.g., glycerol and ethylene glycol, are found to be surprisingly effective in decreasing the initial set time of hydraulic cements, mortars, and concretes, and are advantageous as reduced-temperature set-accelerators. Preferred embodiments of the invention may also comprise a component selected from the group consisting of certain alkanolamines and mixtures thereof.

  • Patent number: 5284888
Abstract: A corrosion inhibiting, EMI/RFI shielding composition is provided comprising a polyurethane resin which comprises a hydroxy or amine functional first polymer and an isocyanate, or isocyanurate terminated second polymer, a stabilized conductive filler, and an azole. In one embodiment of the invention a composition is provided comprising a polyurethane which comprises a fluoroolefin vinyl ether and an isocyanurate, a stabilized copper powder, and a triazole selected from the group consisting of alkyl substituted aromatic triazoles and other azoles. The invention further provides a method of composition a substrate with a composition of the invention in order to provide EMI/RFI shielding and prevent corrosion, and a substrate thus coated.

  • Patent number: 5238709
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for electrostatically applying a coating, such as solder mask, to a substrate such as a circuit board. A grounded conveyor system includes electrically conductive means for suspending the substrate from the conveyor and grounding the substrate. An atomizing spray nozzle provides an atomized, electrically charged spray of the coating material in the direction of the grounded substrate. A focusing element is positioned to confine the spray to a desired pattern, and a receiving backplate, which carries a charge opposite that of the spray, is positioned behind the substrate to attract the charged coating particles that do not impinge on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 5224626
Abstract: Apparatus and method for dispensing admixtures based upon weight. One or more admixture storage containers are supported in one embodiment by a suspended platform, and in another embodiment by brackets. A weight sensing system such as a single load cell is used for weighing the contents of the admixture storage containers. The platform or brackets are arranged so that the load cell is responsive to less than 100% of the weight in the containers. The containers are filled to a predetermined weight, and the contents are dispensed from each container in series or simultaneously.
