Abstract: The system includes a grease pump assembly connected to a conduit having a grease outlet adjacent an endless chain of the chainsaw. The method includes pushing the grease toward the grease pump, pumping the grease, and feeding the grease between the endless chain and the guide bar. The pumping of the grease can be done automatically upon detecting an activation of the chain saw.
Abstract: A lubricant composition is provided as follows: At least 90% of a base grease; (a) a thiadiazole poly(ether)glycol complex in an amount which provides about 1500 to 3500 ppm sulfur; (b) molybdenum dihydrocarbyldithiophosphate in amount which provides about 77 to 450 ppm molybdenum; and (c) zinc dihydrocarbyldithiophosphate in an amount which provides about 600 to 1000 ppm zinc. An additive composition for grease, consisting of components (a), (b) and (c), is also provided.
Abstract: A carbon fiber strand obtained by bundling 20,000-30,000 carbon fibers each having, in the surface thereof, creases which are parallel to the fiber-axis direction. In an examination with a scanning probe microscope, the creases in the carbon fiber surface are apart from each other at a distance of 120-160 nm and have a depth of 12-23 nm, excluding 23 nm. The carbon fibers have an average fiber diameter of 4.5-6.5 nm, specific surface area of 0.9-2.3 m2/g, and density of 1.76 g/cm3 or higher. The carbon strand has a tensile strength of 5,900 MPa or higher and a tensile modulus of 300 GPa or higher. When would on a bobbin at a tension of 9.8 N, the strand on the bobbin has a width of 5.5 mm or larger. When the carbon fiber strand is examined by a strand splitting evaluation method in which the strand is caused to run through three stainless-steel rods while applying a tension of 9.8 N thereto, no strand splitting is observed.
Abstract: A process for obtaining tantalum powder from tantalum containing scrap material is provided. The process includes selecting source material, such as from sintered anodes for capacitors, hydriding the source material, milling to desired particle size and surface area, dehydriding, deoxidizing, agglomerating, sifting, and acid treating to obtain tantalum powder of a desired size and purity.
Abstract: The novel AOX-free process for imparting wet strength to paper with water-dispersible polyisocyanates is distinguished by a good wet-strength effect, even under mild drying conditions, and does not affect the activity of optical brighteners used at the same time.

Abstract: A device for the contamination-free conveying of powders which has a movable cone arranged within a discharge hopper, which, when in an open position, forms an annular gap between itself and the wall of the hopper. The amount of powder which is discharged through the annular gap is controlled by the amount of time the cone remains in the open position. The powder which is discharged from the hopper is supplied to a liquid jet pump, and is conveyed by the liquid jet formed by the liquid jet pump to a dispersing or dissolving tank.
