Abstract: Provided are an optical disc having a plurality of recording layers, and a method and apparatus for recording data thereon. The optical disc has a plurality of recording layers, each recording layer including: a data area; a connecting area; and a remaining area. The data, connecting, and remaining areas are respectively disposed in a direction from an inner circumference of the optical disc to an outer circumference. An outer boundary of each of the data areas is determined according to an amount of data to be recorded. Locations of the connecting areas and the remaining areas are determined by a recording and/or reproducing apparatus according to the determination of the outer boundary of each of the data areas.

Abstract: A server for a mobile web service and a method for providing a web service are provided. The wired server stores an IP address of at least one mobile web server. When a request for access to a mobile web server is received, the wired server delivers the access request to the mobile web server or provides a service in place of the mobile web server, using a URL included in the access request.

The apparatus may receive interference information about at least one subchannel which is allocated to at least one node in an OFDMA system. The apparatus may create an interference list using the interference information. The apparatus may report the interference list to a radio network controller (RNC).

Abstract: A method of reproducing one interactive graphics stream among one or more interactive graphics streams from an information storage medium, via a reproduction apparatus providing a visual display of interactive graphics, including obtaining attribute information in a player status register in the reproducing apparatus, and reading and reproducing one of the interactive graphics streams corresponding to the obtained attribute information among one or more interactive graphics streams from the information storage medium, the one interactive graphics stream being used to control reproduction of audio-visual data and being reproduced with the audio-visual data. With the method, text information written in a variety of languages and data shared by those languages are multiplexed and stored in one menu stream such that data is not redundantly stored and less storage space is wasted.

Abstract: An X-ray imaging apparatus and method for reducing X-ray scattering are provided. The X-ray imaging apparatus includes an X-ray source, a collimator, a detector, and a controller. The X-ray source emits X-rays, the collimator collimates the X-rays into an X-ray beam, and the detector may include a two-dimensional array of pixels. The controller controls the collimator such that the X-ray beam scans a subject while moving over time. In addition, the controller operates the detector to only operate pixels at an exposure area of the detector where the X-ray beam arrives without scattering such that photocharges generated due to the X-ray exposure can be accumulated and stored in the pixels.

Abstract: A peer-to-peer (P2P) network system and a method of operating the P2P network system based on region are provided. If an edge peer storing a resource information list of a super peer migrates to a different super peer and is registered and connected with the different super peer, the edge peer transfers the resource information list to the different super peer to share the resource information list. Resources may be searched based on a region information list into which resource information lists of adjacent super peers are integrated.

Abstract: A load impedance decision device, a wireless power transmission device, and a wireless power transmission method are provided. At least one of a distance and an angle between two resonators may be measured. A load impedance may be determined based on at least one of the measured distance and the measured angle. When the distance between the two resonators changes, a high power transfer efficiency may be maintained without using a separate matching circuit. Where the load impedance is determined, a test power may be transmitted. Depending on a power transfer efficiency of the test power, the load impedance may be controlled and power may be wirelessly transmitted from the source resonator to the target resonator.

Abstract: An ad-hoc network and routing method that takes account of mobility are provided. The ad-hoc network includes at least one node, which calculates a probability that a neighbor node is present in a transmission range of the node, generates a message containing the calculated probability, and transmits the message to the neighbor node. The at least one node may also update the message with a lower probability of the calculated probability and a probability contained in the message, and transmit the updated message to the neighbor node. The node may also determine as a route a path along which a message is transmitted from the message containing the highest probability among probabilities contained in messages that are received.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for tracking link mobility between two mobile nodes. Each node estimates a link mobility state of a link between itself and each of its neighbor nodes, accumulates successively the link mobility states, estimates link mobility parameters using the successively estimated link mobility states, and predicts a link availability probability using the link mobility parameters. The link mobility tracking can be applied to various routing protocols so as to implement mobility aware routing which enhance the routing performance.

Abstract: A mobile station and method for neighbor discovery are provided. The mobile station comprises a mapping table storing a connection identifier (CID) prefix and a neighbor identifier, a controller generating a CID with respect to a message that will be transmitted by referring to the mapping table, and a message transmitter transmitting, by using the CID, the message to a base station connected to the mobile station.

Abstract: A compiler allocates an unroll_group_number conferred based on a sequence in which a loop body is replicated by loop unrolling to each loop body during loop unrolling based on the optimized number of loop unrolling. The allocated unroll_group_number is added to each instruction included in each loop body. A priority of an instruction is adjusted based on the allocated unroll_group_number during instruction scheduling.

Abstract: A method of determining whether a defect exists on an information storage medium is provided along with a recording/reproducing apparatus using the same. Such a method comprises: seeking a defect entry whose state information indicates that a defect block or a replacement block has been re-initialized without certification from a defect list for managing an information storage medium and including state information of the defect block and state information of the replacement block, wherein the medium includes a spare area for recording the replacement block to replace the defect block occurring in a user data area on the medium; and certifying the defect block or the replacement block registered in the sought defect entry. As a result, defect information can be effectively rearranged for quick re-initialization without certification in order to improve the performance of a drive system.

Abstract: An information storage medium storing subtitle text-based information, and a method and apparatus utilizing same, process a subtitle. The information storage medium includes: dialog information which contains script text information of the subtitle and information specifying an output type of the script text; and presentation information which contains style information used to convert the script text into a bitmap format through rendering. With this structure, the amount of data required for a subtitle and the amount of data that should be processed when a subtitle is output may be greatly reduced.

Abstract: A base station and a mobile station for processing wireless communication with each other, and a method for controlling the same are provided. The method for controlling a base station which performs radio communication with a mobile station includes starting radio communication via at least one arbitrary mobile station and a predetermined cellular channel; receiving Channel Quality Indication (CQI) information from the mobile station; determining whether a radio communication anomaly occurs between a specific mobile station from among the at least one arbitrary mobile station and the base station by using the received CQI information; and when determining that the radio communication anomaly occurs with the specific mobile station, controlling to interrupt the radio communication via the predetermined cellular channel and perform radio communication via the specific mobile station and either a shared channel or an open channel.

Abstract: A method of generating a codebook for a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is provided. The codebook generation method includes: assigning a single-polarized precoding matrix to diagonal blocks among a plurality of blocks arranged in a block diagonal format in which a number of diagonal blocks corresponds to a number of polarization directions of transmitting antennas; and assigning a zero matrix to remaining blocks excluding the diagonal blocks.
