  • Patent number: 7536450
Abstract: In a monitoring system for networked devices, a system, method, and computer program product for obtaining a globally-unique identifier for a network device, and sending the same to a central monitor responsible for monitoring devices on multiple networks. A remote monitoring workstation monitors devices connected to a network using IP-based SNMP commands and stores the device monitoring information in a database. The remote monitoring workstation queries the database to obtain an IP address and the collected monitoring information for a device, uses the IP address to request a globally-unique identifier (e.g., a MAC address) from a device using SNMP commands, then sends the monitoring information including the globally-unique device identifier to a central monitoring workstation via an e-mail message.

  • Patent number: 7519992
Abstract: A group administration organization device admits a user device to an authorized group by request and sends authority permission information to the user device. The user device holds the authority permission information received from the group administration organization device and, on access, sends authority proof information created from the authority permission information using a group signature scheme to a service provider device as requested by it. The service provider device, upon being accessed, requests the authority proof information and verifies the authority proof information received from the user device in accordance with the request on the basis of the group signature scheme. When the verification result indicates validity, the service provider device provides a service. Thus, there is no need for the service provider to manage personal information of the user because the user device proves to the service provider device using the group signature scheme that it belongs to the authorized group.

  • Patent number: 7261457
Abstract: A surface light source conversion member, which converts emission light from a light source to planar light, has a predetermined thickness at a part thereof where a light incidence surface of a light guide, which is opposed to the light source, is located. A reflector, which reflects emission light from the light source toward the light incidence surface, includes a clamp portion that clamps the surface light source conversion member in a thickness direction thereof. The clamp portion contacts a corner portion that is formed between a light emission surface of the light guide and the light incidence surface of the light guide and is separated from the light emission surface. The reflector creates a gap, which is smaller than a predetermined thickness, between the light source and the light incidence surface.

  • Patent number: 7139975
Abstract: A document conversion method for converting a first structured document F1, formed based on a first document type definition D1, to a second structured document F3, formed based on a second document type definition D2, the document conversion method including analyzing the document type definition D1 and document type definition D2 and extracting a difference document type definition, generating a conversion template T2 described therein a conversion rule which prevents the structured document F3, which is the result of document conversion process, from being contradictory to the document type definition D2, based on the results of the analysis, and performing document conversion process using the conversion template T2.

  • Patent number: 7064866
Abstract: An image forming apparatus can apply a smoothing process to multiple value image data without generation of errors due to an unnecessary smoothing process. A template matching process unit determines whether or not the original image data is to be subjected to a smoothing process, and outputs the original image data together with a selection signal indicative of a result of the determination. A smoothing process unit selectively applies a smoothing process to the original image data based on the determination of the template matching process unit so as to output smoothed image data. A first control signal source outputs a first control signal representing whether or not application of the smoothing process is permitted on an individual image basis. A second control signal source outputs a second control signal representing whether or not application of the smoothing process is permitted on an individual pixel basis.

  • Patent number: 7031591
Abstract: An optical waveguide-forming material is comprised of a photocurable organopolysiloxane composition comprising an alkali-soluble organopolysiloxane and a photoacid generator, wherein the organopolysiloxane is obtained by (co)hydrolytic condensation of a triorganoxysilane having hydrolyzable epoxide and has an average molecular weight of 500–50,000 as determined by GPC using polystyrene standards. The optical waveguide-forming material, when subjected to pattern formation by photolithography, can be resolved with an alkaline aqueous solution, has a high sensitivity and resolution, and offers a cured film having improved light transmittance, heat resistance and humidity resistance.

  • Patent number: 6037191
Abstract: A method for processing a single-crystal semiconductor wafer is provided which is capable of minimizing a dead space to maximize the number of elements per one wafer and preventing leakage luminescence and a reduction in luminance. A phosphor is deposited on each of a plurality of regions defined in the wafer at predetermined intervals and a water-resistant protective film is formed on the phosphor. Then, the wafer is cut for every one of the regions by means of a dicing saw using cutting water, to thereby provide a plurality of chips. The chips are subject to calcination during a calcination step in manufacture of fluorescent display device in which the chips are used as a display section, resulting in the protective film being evaporated.
