  • Patent number: 4344456
Abstract: A regulator for controlling the liquid level in a liquid supply system having a discharge part located at an elevation higher than the elevation of the regulator. The regulator is characterized by a housing spanned by a diaphragm to define two chambers including a liquid chamber with which the intake and outlet of the regulator are connected and within which is located a lever mounting at one end a valve for sealing said intake in one position of the lever and connected at its opposite end to said diaphragm to be pivoted by the diaphragm. The other chamber of the housing receives a spring for urging said diaphragm to valve-opening position. An adjusting member projects from and is manually accessible externally of said housing and is actuable to vary the pressure exerted against said diaphragm by said spring.

  • Patent number: 4337543
Abstract: A trimaran type boat having center, port, and starboard elongated floats which are hinged together at corresponding juxtaposed side edges to enable the port and starboard floats to be pivoted between an operatable position in which the floats are transversely oriented to accommodate flotation of the boat and a collapsed position in which the port and starboard floats are folded into the center float to reduce the overall width of the boat without appreciably increasing the height so as to facilitate its storage and transport.

  • Patent number: 4337657
Abstract: An oil level indicator for use on a motor vehicle having a tube open at the vehicle oil pan. An elongated stiff oil gauging wire is slidably mounted in the tube. The wire carries a float at its lower end and extends at its upper end into a stationary housing mounted on the vehicle. The housing pivotally mounts a lever connected to a stiff wire and to the slidable contactor of a variable resistance member in the housing. The variable resistance member is connected to a battery and to a guage mounted at the dashboard of the motor vehicle to indicate the oil level in the oil pan.

  • Patent number: 4330809
Abstract: A thermal protection circuit for the die of a transistor having a heat sink in which a signal proportional to the dissipative input current and a signal proportional to the dissipative applied voltage of the transistor are multiplied to produce a signal representative of the applied power to the transistor. This representative applied power signal is transformed into a simulated differential in temperature between the die of the transistor and its heat sink. Simultaneously, the temperature of the heat sink is determined and this temperature is added to the simulated differential in temperature between the die of the transistor and the heat sink to determine a sensed die temperature. A control responsive to this sensed die temperature reduces the applied power to the transistor.
