  • Patent number: 6009729
Abstract: A process can form an arrangement for a warp knitting or circular knitting machine with (a) a single hardenable retaining material, (b) a plurality of thread processing elements having proximal ends, and (c) a carrier having a face with a groove. The process includes the step of introducing the hardenable retaining material before it is hardened into the groove of the carrier. The process also includes the step of holding the thread processing elements in a single plane. Another step is introducing the proximal ends of the thread processing elements into the non-hardened retaining material, keeping the thread processing elements in a single plane with even separation while protruding from the face of the carrier. The process also includes the step of waiting for hardening of said retaining material, wherein the proximal ends are embedded in the carrier.

  • Patent number: 5980494
Abstract: A thermoplastic molded housing has a cylindrical bore with axial grooves and inclined camming surfaces extending about the bore surface. A plastic molded vial for receiving injectable fluid in a cavity receives a plunger therein for dispensing the fluid and for displacing the vial. The vial has a ratchet member with fixed ratchet teeth and tabs about its circumference which tabs and teeth form camming surfaces which cooperate with the housing camming surfaces. The tabs are aligned for reciprocating in the housing bore grooves. A ring is secured captured to the vial for rotation about the vial and for limited axial displacement along the vial longitudinal axis. A spring urges the ring and vial to the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 5962696
Abstract: There is provided a process for the work-up of this material having the formula ##STR1## because of its poor crystallizability has heretofore been available only with large yield losses. The yield losses are due to the fact that the crystals of this compound are associated with large amounts of residual solvent material which gives rise to complex and expensive drying procedures. In accordance with the present invention the crude LPE is dried by means of fluid or supercritical carbon dioxide which maces it possible to reduce drying times from the previous range of about 124 hours to about 10 hours for the same amount of product and thus produce a dry LPE which has smaller amounts of residual solvent, as well as smaller by-products than that obtained by conventional drying.

  • Patent number: 5918485
Abstract: A warp knitting machine comprises a jacquard guide bar (102) whose guides (7) are movable to and fro between two end stops (113 and 114). This motion is effected by setting members of a guide control. The end positions of the guides have a separation equal to two needle spaces. Additional strikers (115) and (116) are, at choice, made operative by the setting members (transducer 108) of a stop control. When one of the additional strikers is in an operative position, that striker holds the guide (7) in a central position. In particular, needle control and stop controls may operate with piezoelectric transducers. In this manner, it is possible to obtain an extremely large number of patterning possibilities.

  • Patent number: 5905160
Abstract: The epoxidation is carried out in a reaction system made of metal under conditions such that the inner surface area (S) of the reaction system exposed to the gaseous-phase part thereof and the amount of the reaction solution (V) in the reaction system satisfy the formula: 0<S/V.ltoreq.2 (m.sup.2 /m.sup.3). The epoxidation, otherwise, is carried out in a reaction vessel such that at least the inner surface thereof exposed to the gaseous-phase part thereof has been inactivated or in a reaction vessel such that at least the inner surface thereof exposed to the gaseous-phase part thereof has been inactivated. A hydroxy iminodisuccinic acid is produced by causing the epoxysuccinic acid which has been obtained as described above to react with L-aspartic acid. By this reaction, an epoxy compound can be produced with a high yield without inducing coloration by epoxidizing a corresponding ethylenic compound with hydrogen peroxide.
