Abstract: A harness for dogs with crippled hindquarters. The harness has a sling for supporting the dog's belly near its hindquarters. A D-ring is mounted on each end of the sling. A rod-like handgrip for a human handler is detachably connected with the D-rings by snap-lock connectors. The inside layer of the sling that contacts the dog's skin comprises a launderable barrier fabric of polyester knit textile. The same material is used on the outside layer, but only near the opposite end-portions likely to contact the skin or clothing of the handler. The mid-portion of the outer layer is of polypropylene since it does not normally contact the handler's skin or clothing. The sling of a second embodiment has a composite strap of nylon and sheepskin.
Abstract: A holder for a container (of beverage, for example) having a compartment, at least partly of light transmitting material to permit light to be transmitted to and from the compartment. The housing has a central axis that is vertical when the housing is upright, and a wall that encloses the axis and forms the outer side wall of the compartment. A cover is supported on the upper edge of the side wall and overlies the compartment.
Abstract: A spinning-type game piece that can be tossed at, and secured to, a magnetically attractive game surface. The game piece includes an aerodynamic body of thin sheet material with a base portion and at least one rotor. A magnetic substrate is secured to an underside of the base portion.
Abstract: A stroke training device includes a guide member connected between the user's body and a stroking device which will focus the force of body rotation at a constant radius as the user's body moves between backstroke, stroking, and follow through positions; the guide member includes a reference surface located between the hand end of the stroking device and the user's body for defining a vertically extended reference plane located wholly between the hand end of the stroking device and the body within the constant radius of swing and moveable into a stroking or hitting plane including the object to be hit, which stroking and hitting plane is perpendicular to the line of contact with the object being hit for positioning the striking end of the stroking device within the stroking or hitting plane when the user's body is rotated into its stroking position.
Abstract: A door jamb mountable hinge (14) for supporting folding doors (10). The assembly (14) comprises an L-shaped bracket (16) having a mountable portion (18) and a support portion (20). The mountable portion (18) is attached to the door jamb (12) and the support portion (20) supports the adjustable hinge arm support (30). The hinge support arm (30) supports a pivotally mounted folding door (10) which allows the bracket (16) to be mounted behind the plane of the closed door (10) and out of view. The hinge support arm (30) is threadily secured in position via a bolt (38).
Abstract: An E clip fastener installing tool for holding and retaining an E clip fastener in a predetermined position prior to installing the fastener. The tool includes a body having first and second end portions and a shank portion extending between the first and second end portions. The first end portion terminates in a pair of blades disposed parallel and in spaced relationship with respect to each other to define a slot therebetween for holding and retaining the E clip fastener therein. The second end portion includes a polygonal shape presenting a plurality of surfaces and which is adapted to be supported by a tool bit holder.
Abstract: A shock absorber capable of effectively preventing a gas from leaking from a gas chamber, maintaining an oil seal in a firmly-held state, and preventing the reciprocating movements of a rod from adversely affecting the function of the oil seal, comprising an oil cylinder and a gas tube, which are joined together in a concentrically-arranged state to form a gas chamber therebetween; a rod, which is moved reciprocatingly in the oil cylinder; a bearing having an axially extending cylindrical support portion and fixed to an end portion of the oil cylinder to form an oil chamber in cooperation with the oil cylinder and rod support in such a manner that the rod can be slidingly moved; and an oil seal, which has a main lip sealingly slidable with respect to a circumferential surface of the rod, and a frustoconical check valve lip resiliently contacting an outer surface of the cylindrical support portion and adapted to allow an oil to flow from the oil chamber to the gas chamber and prevent the oil from flowing in th
