  • Patent number: 6110195
Abstract: A method and apparatus for surgical and dermatological treatment using a multi-wavelength laser system includes a primary laser beam generator optically pumped by a semiconductor laser diode. A portion or all of the optical pumping energy may be outputted with the primary laser beam output to form a multi-wavelength treatment beam. A frequency doubling medium, such as a KTP or LBO crystal, may be imposed in the output of the laser beam generator to produce an additional wavelength that may be combined into the multi-wavelength treatment beam. To achieve high peak power pulse laser output, a Q-switch element can be placed in front or in back of the laser crystal. Alternatively, the laser system may output only the wavelength of the semiconductor laser diode pumping system. The selection of one or more wavelengths provides a wider range of treatment modalities using a single laser system, without creating problems attendant with the complexity and maintenance of prior art multi-wavelength laser systems.

  • Patent number: 6083383
Abstract: This invention relates generally to apparatuses and processes for preparing fibrinogen glue from autologous plasma. More particularly, this invention relates to a novel apparatus comprising a plasma membrane separator to extract and separate the autologous plasma from other undesirable compositions in the blood. The autologous plasma is transferred to a membrane separator to provide separation of the fibrinogen from other compositions with a desirable amount of ether or other suitable solvents containing an-OH group in the presence of a mixing means. The fibrinogen so separated is transferred to a fibrinogen collector which is connected to a vacuum pump through a sterile filter to remove the ether or other suitable solvents contained thereof. A freezer is provided to maintain the autologous plasma in the membrane separator and the fibrinogen in the fibrinogen collector at a desirable temperature.

  • Patent number: 6022261
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vertically sinkable toy ship model comprising a plurality of compartments having a plurality of correspondent holes to provide fluid communication between the compartments. When the toy ship model is set for sinking, water enters into the first compartment of the hull through an adjustable opening to cause the ship model to tilt forward to initiate sinking with the aid of a weight until the water level reaches the first wall hole between the first compartment and the second compartment whereby the water will then flow from the first compartment into the second compartment via the first compartment wall hole to cause the sinking ship to rise into a vertically standing position in the water; the water will likewise proceed to fill the last compartment, at which point the water will fills the entire hull to cause the sinking ship to submerge under water.

  • Patent number: 5933427
Abstract: It is disclosed hereby that a switch system comprises a N:M switch circuit, a plurality of layer 2 switches, each comprising a plurality of packet processing channels, and a plurality of network interfaces, each comprising a fixed number of pairs of ports to be directly connected to the same number of devices. The N:M switch is coupled with the N number of the packet processing channels of the layer 2 switches at the N-side and with the M number of the ports of the network interfaces at the M-side. When a packet containing a destination to a receiving device sent by a sending device arrives at the network interface, the N:M switch establishes an electronic connection between an available packet processing channel and a port to which the sending device is connected, the packet passes through to the packet processing channel in which the packet is processed and stored.
