  • Patent number: 8324573
Abstract: In a conventional micro-channel plate (MCP), a secondary electron (SE) detector or a semi-conductor detector the number of the electrons is amplified through its own structure. For such amplification a small voltage difference is applied externally or generated due to its own structure and material. The electric current of electrons undergoing the above-described procedure is amplified by an external amplification circuit. In the present invention electrons—resulting from the collision of the electron beam generated by a microcolumn—are detected by surrounding conductive wiring. The detected electrons are amplified using an amplification circuit on the outside similar to a conventional detection method.

  • Patent number: 8325876
Abstract: The present invention relates to an X-ray imaging apparatus comprising an X-ray source unit generating an X-ray, an X-ray detecting sensor unit having a sensor panel equipped with multiple sensors detecting the X-ray which is generated from the X-ray source unit and passed through an object, and a panel-moving means mounted on the X-ray detecting sensor unit and moving the sensor panel. Thus, employing and butting multiple small X-ray sensors instead of expensive large sensors advantageously reduces the manufacturing cost for the X-ray imaging apparatus, and enables the imaging of the same wide area as with the use of the large sensors.

  • Patent number: 8313706
Abstract: Provided are a gasket, a reactor using the same for sealing a spiral, and a manufacturing method thereof. Spirials are continuously installed in the longitudinal direction between an inner pipe and an outer pipe coaxially arranged to form a flow path for a heat medium, so the seal between the spiral and the outer pipe is stably maintained and fabrication of the reactor is facilitated. The gasket is inserted in and coupled with the spiral, and thus does not need additional processing for combining the gasket. The gasket and spiral are coupled by lodging the spiral into a channel of the gasket. Furthermore, since the gasket is evenly coupled in the outer circumference of the spiral, in which a cushion plate made of resilient material is installed, breakage of the gasket during assembly of the outer pipe is effectively prevented and the post-assembly seal between the spiral and the outer pipe is stabilized.

  • Patent number: 8305279
Abstract: A three-axis antenna positioner has an X-Y over azimuth configuration, and includes an azimuth drive assembly, an X-axis drive assembly, and a Y-axis drive assembly. Each drive assembly is independently operable. The azimuth drive assembly imparts 540° azimuthal rotational motion to an antenna about an azimuth axis. The X-axis drive assembly rotates the antenna about a horizontal X-axis at elevation angles between ?90° and +90°. The Y-axis drive assembly rotates the antenna about a Y-axis at elevation complement angles between ?2° and +105°. The azimuth axis, the X-axis, and the Y-axis all intersect at a common intersection point, and are mutually orthogonal. A controller operates each drive assembly so as to minimize antenna tracking velocity and acceleration. Each drive assembly may include dual drives, and may be operated in a bias drive mode to substantially eliminate backlash.

  • Patent number: 8284967
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrostatic speaker including a fixed electrode and a diaphragm that is arranged with a predetermined gap from the fixed electrode and has a plurality of ventilation holes. The ventilative diaphragm reduces air resistance caused by the ground effect between the fixed electrode and the diaphragm, and increases the sound pressure output from the speaker. As a result, the ventilative diaphragm makes it possible to obtain a uniform frequency reproduction characteristic over the entire frequency range. In particular, when the diaphragm is made from Korean paper, it is possible to effectively reduce the ground effect occurring between the fixed electrode and the diaphragm due to the air permeable characteristic of the Korean paper and the air resistance due to a surge input signal, while satisfying physical characteristics of the existing diaphragm. In addition, since the Korean paper has high formability, it is possible to easily form the diaphragm in a hemispherical shape.
