  • Patent number: 8164265
Abstract: To prevent the continuation of the abnormal state occurring immediately after the lighting start of the electrodeless discharge lamp excited by a DC driven magnetron and to recover promptly from the abnormal state at the steady state period. Lighting start of an electrodeless discharge lamp is performed in soft start mode. Increasing the power supply to the magnetron gradually, the lamp is turned into a lighting state for longer time than the time for the luminescence medium to evaporate fully absorbing microwave. At that period, the output of DC power supply is periodically cut off momentarily, resetting the abnormal state. Then, stable DC power is supplied. At the steady state period, the anode current of the magnetron is controlled to be constant. When rise of the operation voltage of the magnetron is detected, the output of DC power supply is cut off momentary to recover to the steady state.

  • Patent number: 8159533
Abstract: A surveillance camera has a sensing module, a micro-control unit (MCU) and a real-time clock (RTC) unit. The sensing module records original images. The MCU is connected to the sensing module and stores multiple time settings and a smart timer process. The MCU executes the smart timer process to operate the surveillance camera in a color mode, a monochrome mode or an auto mode based on the time settings. In the color mode, the surveillance camera records color images. In the monochrome mode, the surveillance camera records monochrome images. In the auto mode, the surveillance camera selectively records color images and monochrome images based on a variation between light level of the original images and a predetermined light level. Therefore, the surveillance camera can be set to operate in specific mode based on requirements. The surveillance camera is more flexible and convenient than conventional surveillance cameras.

  • Patent number: 8146815
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a bar code generator which improves a print quality of a bar code and further enhances reading precision thereof, as to both vertical and horizontal bar codes. In this bar code generator, bar width information is set independently for each of the vertical and horizontal bar codes, as a precondition for printing the vertical and horizontal bar codes, selectively. When the bar code is printed (S802), it is determined whether the bar code is vertical or horizontal (S803), and according to the result of the determination, the bar width information of the determined bar code orientation is read out for drawing an image of the bar code (S804, S805, and S806). The result being drawn is transmitted to the printer, and the bar code is printed.

  • Patent number: 8146970
Abstract: A recovery net has a net, a connecting rope, a floating unit, a ballast and two pulling ropes. The net has an upper edge, a lower edge and a surface. The connecting rope and the floating unit are mounted on the upper edge of the net. The ballast and the pulling ropes are mounted on the lower edge of the net. The floating unit provides buoyancy, the ballast provides sinking force so the net can float on water and the surface of the net is vertical. Recoverers align the net near a corpse and then pull the pulling ropes to recover the corpse in its entirety so recovery work is more efficient.

  • Patent number: 8143590
Abstract: An ion source apparatus has an ion source assembly and a neutralizer. The ion source assembly has a body, a heat-dissipating device, an anode chunk and a gas distributor. The heat-dissipating device has a thermal transfer plate and a first thermal side sheet. The thermal transfer plate has a top, a protrusion and an annular disrupting recess. The protrusion is formed at the top of the thermal transfer plate. The disrupting recess is radially formed around the protrusion. The first thermal side sheet surrounds the protrusion. The gas distributor is mounted securely in the protrusion. Because the protrusion is located between the gas distributor and the first thermal side sheet and the disrupting recess is radially formed around the protrusion, accumulated ions, molecules and deposition film particles are longitudinally disrupted and do not form a short circuit between the gas distributor and the first thermal side sheet.

  • Patent number: 8123710
Abstract: A limiting connector for a knee brace has a first arm, a second arm and an angle adjusting assembly. The second arm is connected pivotally to the first arm. The angle adjusting assembly is mounted between the first arm and the second arm, and has a positioning gear, a gear cap, two buttons and a rotating cap. The gear cap is mounted through the positioning gear and the second arm, and is mounted on the first arm to hold the positioning gear between the second arm and the gear cap. The buttons are selectively slid to engage the positioning gear and define a range of rotation between the first and second arms. The rotating cap is rotatably mounted through the gear cap, and pushes the positioning gear toward the first arm to disengage the positioning gear from the buttons for adjusting the range of rotation.

  • Patent number: 8116902
Abstract: A method of detecting a dynamic path of a five-axis machine tool having a spindle and a turntable and has a preparing step, a correcting step and a detecting step. The preparing step includes mounting a detector on the spindle, mounting a cat-eye reflector on the turntable, emitting a laser light to the cat-eye reflector, reflecting the laser light to the detector and splitting into two light beams. One of the light beams is emitted to a four-quadrant position sensitive detector. The correcting step includes rotating the detector, detecting a signal of the laser light by the four-quadrant position sensitive detector to eliminate an offset between the detecting assembly and the spindle. The detecting step includes detecting the dynamic path of the five-axis machine tool by detecting the positions of at least two of the linear axes and at least one of the rotation axes of the five-axis machine tool.
