Abstract: Referring to the figures, a landing jack lift 100 is shown having an upright lever portion 105 which is pivotally connected to a base plate 130. Base plate 130 allows landing jack lift 100 to be used in soft soil conditions and provides a stable support in use. A lifting arm 120 is pivotally connected to upright lever portion 105 using a pivot 150. Pivot 150 is a bolt, but other pivoting means may be used such as pins, rivets, etc. as is known in the art. A lifting plate 125 is provided to fit under a landing jack 165 attached to a trailer 160 to allow a user to move landing jack 165 without having to bend over or lie on the ground. Lifting plate 125 is pivotally mounted so the as the angle changes with respect to lifting arm 120, lifting plate 125 maintains level contact with landing jack 165. Additionally, lifting plate 125 telescopically fits within lifting arm 120 in order to allow a user to adjust the length.

  • Patent number: 8272741
Abstract: An eye chart uses a series of sinusoidal lines spaced at intervals selected to discriminate between normal vision and vision impaired by the presence of a cataract. Groups of sinusoidal lines have progressively different distances between the series with one series representing normal vision with the space between the lines growing progressively further apart to indicate the advancement of the cataract. A user counts the number of lines of the group that is clearly distinct. A user with normal vision will be able to count the number of lines, while a person with cataracts will require the space between the lines to be further apart in order to count depending on the stage of cataract development. A light source may be used to indicate night vision problems. A user can record the progression of the cataracts by tracking any changes over time. Different shapes and letters may be used.

  • Patent number: 8226228
Abstract: Cooling and heating eyeglasses have peltier chips mounted around at least a portion of the perimeter of the lenses that provides a cooling affect that reduces eyestrain and provides cooling relief to the user. A battery pack provides the electrical energy needed to energize the peltier chips. The battery pack is connected to a neck strap that allows the user to comfortably support the batteries. In another embodiment, a plurality of smaller batteries are used and disposed within the frame eliminating the need for an external battery pack. In another embodiment, side shields are also provide with peltier chips to further control the temperature especially around the user's eyes. Because the peltier can also provide heating, a user can also select heating if preferred. The cooling and heating glasses can be used for prevention and treatment of several eye diseases and oculopathies.

  • Patent number: 8096059
Abstract: A dynamic bow alignment, analysis and repair apparatus and system comprises an adjustable frame allowing the frame to adjust to fit any size bow. An air ram is used to controllably draw the shooting string as needed. A reference laser alignment module is mounted to a bow riser and allows a user to consistently and reliably align any bow for optimum performance based on the particularities of the selected bow subject to wear, defects and design constraints. The system removes the guesswork and allows a user to optimize any bow. A laser equipped arrow works in conjunction with the alignment module to allow the user to correctly position the shooting rest and nock indexer, and expose all functional anomalies. The system allows a user to completely quantify the performance parameters of bow performance including speed and spine tests. The system serves all major alignments and repairs.

  • Patent number: 7954900
Abstract: A leg supporting device for use behind a head rest for air and vehicular travel has a head rest support portion that fits over a head rest of a forwardly positioned seat and supports a back flap portion that hangs down behind the forwardly positioned seat. A pair of adjustment straps adjustably attach to the back flap portion and supports a foot support portion. A user slips one or both of their feet into the foot support portion and then adjusts the adjustment straps to support their feet at a desired height and position. The foot support portion handles to carry it. In use, the leg supporting device can be folded and placed within the foot support portion and carried using the handles until needed. One embodiment includes pockets for holding drinks, computer, and other carry-on items. A leg massage unit may be built in for additional relief.

  • Patent number: 7668458
Abstract: A protective device for photographic apparatus comprises an umbrella with a shaft which slides in a ball joint having a compressible o-ring that fits inside a groove within the ball joint. The ball joint is held in place with compression screws joining two halves of a collar system which are adjusted to provide the desired frictional setting to maintain the umbrella in the desired position. A slide bar with an attachment bolt at one end and a stop at the other is used to attach the present invention to the base of a camera or video device and provides the slide wherein the collar system is moved to a desired position. The collar system includes grooves whereby the shaft of the umbrella may be rotated to lie flat against the collar system to facilitate storage and tilting of the photographic apparatus. The umbrella collapses pulling the protective canopy down along shaft for easy storage.

  • Patent number: 7662282
Abstract: A permanent magnet array iron filter has a generally circular collar made of a high magnetic permeability material with a plurality of magnetic assemblies interiorly disposed longitudinally around an interior circumference therein. Each magnetic assembly has two magnets with opposite poles facing the center of the filter and a gap between the adjacent assemblies. This arrangement intensifies the resultant magnetic field and projects the field deeply within the interior region of the filter. Rare earth permanent magnets are used to maximize the magnetic field. The collar may be coated with a plastic coating to protect the filter. The collar has a gap to provide flexibility when sliding the filter over an oil filter. The thickness of the collar may be adjusted to meet the requirements of a particular application.
