  • Patent number: 7453633
Abstract: A perforate projection screen for movies, planetariums and the like having inconspicuous seams and uniform reflectivity throughout its visible surface. The screen is made from a plurality of perforate panels and is mounted, when in use, with a dark non-reflective chamber behind the screen. Any overlapped areas of the panels and any frame members or other objects, in close proximity to the back of the panels are covered with a black velour type material to prevent light reflection from panel holes where objects are in close proximity to the back of the panel. The edges of adjacent panels overlap to form seams with the overlapped edges of the panels being crimped to form recesses to receive the overlapping edge strip of an adjacent panel, thereby hiding the overlapping panel edge to reduce shadow lines and make the panel edges inconspicuous to viewers.

  • Patent number: 7357281
Abstract: A clothes hanger having a pants holding device for holding one or more pairs of pants, the hanger having a hook and an upper member of inverted V shape extending across the width of the hanger and having its center attached to the bottom of the hook. A bottom member extends substantially horizontally for the width of the hanger and spaced below the upper member with its ends attached to the ends of the upper member. A vertical member extends between each end of the upper member and an adjacent end of the bottom member. At least one pair of horizontal fingers, has each finger attached to and extending inwardly from one of the vertical members, the fingers of each pair being in axial alignment with each other but being of such a length as to leave an open space between the inner ends of the fingers to aid in placing the pants legs over the fingers to retain the pants in suspension between the fingers and the bottom member.

  • Patent number: 7252500
Abstract: An injection molding apparatus which includes a check valve assembly mounted at the forward end of a feed-screw, the valve assembly having forward and rearward valve seat surfaces which co-act in a first position to allow a plasticized polymeric material to enter and flow through the valve into an injection chamber and which co-act in a second position to stop any additional material from entering the valve assembly. The second valve position is effected by a feed-screw injection stroke which generates a back pressure to close the valve, the back pressure moving a check ring of the valve assembly into a position to block entry into the valve. Part of the valve seat surfaces are covered with a plurality of ceramic disks and other valve seat surfaces are covered with a metal alloy which effectively increases the abrasion resistance of the valve seat surfaces and thus also increases the wear service life of the check valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 7165660
Abstract: A parking brake assembly which includes a lever (15) for operation of a brake shoe (11, 12) to provide a parking function, the lever carrying an automatic latching device for automatically latching to the lever an end fitting (20) on an operating cable (19) and a guide spring (25) extending from an associated brake backplate (13) into contact with the lever. The automatic latching device is in the form of a latching member (22) mounted on the lever which is deflected aside by the end fitting as the cable is fed in a first direction towards the lever within the guide spring and which latches behind an abutment (20a) on the end fitting to latch the cable to the lever so that subsequent movement of the cable in a second direction opposite to the first direction moves the lever to operate the parking function.

  • Patent number: 6612407
Abstract: A method of attaching a brake cable assembly onto a drum brake assembly is disclosed for a new form of brake cable having a cable inner portion with an end fitting and a cable outer portion comprising a cable sheath and a guide. The cable guide is inserted through a hole in a backplate of the brake assembly and positioned such that an open end of the guide is presented adjacent an automatic latching device on a parking brake lever of the brake assembly. The cable inner is then advanced through the cable outer such that the end fitting is guided towards, and engages the automatic latching device. The cable outer and backplate may be provided with corresponding orientation features which are aligned to ensure the correct presentation of the open end of the guide adjacent the latching device during assembly. These orientation features may take the form of interengaging formations on the backplate and cable outer. The guide may include a spring which acts as a return spring for the parking brake lever.
