  • Patent number: 7552188
Abstract: On at least one of computers constituting a plurality of nodes on a network N, a management information file representing links between nodes is stored. The computer of each node stores, into a predetermined memory area on the network, digital information pieces generated on the computer. The computer sends the stored digital information pieces to the network N, in response to a request from another computer. The computer which issued the request obtains, from the network N, the sent digital information pieces and the management information file and visualizes the obtained digital information pieces in a view particular thereto; the visualization is carried out on the basis of relations between the request-issuing computer node and the computer node storing the obtained digital information pieces, wherein the relations are identified by the use of the management information file.

  • Patent number: 7537018
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is a method for creating and maintaining a partial vapor pressure in a sample chamber of a sorption analyzer. A first dry gas flow is purged from a first mass flow controller through a saturator to produce a near-saturated gas flow. The near-saturated gas flow is mixed with a second dry gas flow from a second mass flow controller to produce a mixed gas flow with a predetermined partial vapor pressure. The mixed gas flow is directed into the sample chamber. If the lowest possible vapor pressure is required in the sample chamber, the first dry gas flow is directed around the saturator to the sample chamber and vapor migrating from the saturator is vented to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 7533100
Abstract: On a network, there are provided a plurality of shared fields enabling a plurality of computers to interact with each other. The computer is allowed to move between the shared fields anytime. Upon leaving a shared field, the computer records, on the network, contexts including identification of another computer relating to the interaction. When participating in another shared field, the user reads out the contexts from the network and reflects them on another interaction held in the latter shared field. Thus, interactions on shared fields act on construction of global fields for interactions.

  • Patent number: 7526941
Abstract: A method of calibrating the torque outputs of a rheometer by using a calibrating object with a certified moment of inertia, measuring the moment of inertia of the calibrating object using the rheometer, and calculating the torque adjustment factor by dividing the certified moment of inertia value by the measured moment of inertia value. The torque adjustment factor is applied to correct subsequent measurements of rheological properties conducted using the rheometer. The torque adjustment factor may be double-checked for reproducibility by measuring the moment of inertia of the calibrating object, correcting it with the torque adjustment factor, and comparing it with its certified moment of inertia value.

  • Patent number: 7515702
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for downloading audio signals into a digital telephone to update and replace a conventional ringer tone. The source of the audio signal can be from any analog audio sound source, such as a radio, PC sound card, MP3 player, CD or DVD player, etc. The audio signal can be fed through an audio cable into a handset headset jack that is already available in most digital telephones, or into a specialized audio jack incorporated into the base (of a cordless telephone). The audio signal may be comprised of a song or speech. The audio signal can be stored in a specialized memory for storing audio signals without requiring encoding the signal prior to storage, or it can be stored in any conventional memory arrangement. For a cordless telephone, the audio signal may be stored in the handset or in the base unit.

  • Patent number: 7507897
Abstract: A data format for a dictionary-based compressed melody data includes a command part and a data part. The command part includes an index for designating an indexed dictionary entry in a dictionary and indicators for indicating modification/update options for the dictionary. The data part is used to modify the indexed dictionary entry to obtain a decoded musical note. A compressor selects a musical note as a dictionary entry according to a statistical model and records an index in the command part. The compressor further stores a difference between a musical note and an existing dictionary entry in the data part. A decompressor reads an indexed dictionary entry from a dictionary thereof and selectively modifies the indexed dictionary entry by the data part in the compressed data. The decompressor optionally updates the dictionary thereof by the decoded musical note. Therefore, the dictionaries of the compressor and the decompressor can be synchronized.

  • Patent number: 7500385
Abstract: An optical rheometer system includes a rheometer chamber that can retain a fluid sample to be measured. A light source is provided that creates a light beam incident on the fluid sample. A Peltier heating plate is provided that has a channel region located within the plate. The channel region is configured to substantially transmit a light beam emitted from the light source and incident on the Peltier heating plate. In one embodiment, a rotating optical plate is provided opposed to a first surface of the Peltier plate. The rotating optical plate is substantially transparent such that light from a light beam emerging from the channel region of the Peltier plate can pass through the optical plate and be recorded at a detector. Peltier elements in the Peltier heating plate are arranged to provide uniform heating of sample fluid located on the first surface of the Peltier heating plate. The Peltier elements are further arranged to permit light to pass through the channel substantially unattenuated.
