  • Patent number: 4215765
Abstract: Two acoustical wall panels are secured together back-to-back to form an acoustical wall baffle installable perpendicularly to a wall of an office space in abutting relationship to the wall, ceiling, and floor. Each of the wall panels includes a fibrous glass board mounted in an extruded aluminum frame and covered on the front and edges with a decorative fabric. Each frame includes a rear mounting foot strip for spacing a wall panel from a wall and enabling the wall panel to be hung by the top frame member on concealed brackets, and a rear groove for anchoring the fabric covering by a rubber or plastic cord. The two wall panels are clipped together at the mounting foot strips of the frames by generally U-shaped metal or plastic strips. On the exposed vertical front edge of the wall baffle, a decorative trim strip is inserted between the two wall panels at the fabric anchoring grooves. The wall baffles are mounted by sliding them onto T-shaped mounting strips adhered to the ceiling and floor.

  • Patent number: 4214407
Abstract: Fabric restraining cables are anchored at opposite ends to a concrete ring of a roof structure. Each cable has a plurality of bearing plates spaced longitudinally therealong and secured to the upper portion thereof by U-bolts. Clamp mounting base plates also secured at one end by the U-bolts span the spaces between pairs of the bearing plates. Each base plate has a pair of lower clamp plates secured respectively along opposite edge portions thereof. Each lower clamp plate has an upper clamp plate secured thereto and clamping a beaded edge portion of a fabric panel along with upper and lower gaskets therefor. In several embodiments, each upper gasket is extended transversely outwardly from the cable, looped back over the respective row of upper clamp plates, and releasably joined to the opposite extended and looped back upper gasket to provide a joint cover between the opposite fabric panels.

  • Patent number: 4213641
Abstract: The pipe coupling includes a hollow cylindrical body and pipe registering means projecting radially inward therefrom centrally thereof. The body has a pair of inner annular grooves respectively adjacent opposite ends for the reception of sealing rings. Both the body and the pipe registering means are formed of glass fiber reinforced thermosetting resin and each contains glass filament windings. A plastic film strip between the body and the pipe registering means maintains them separate as the resin of both is cured. Thereafter, any cracking of the pipe registering means will leave the body intact and a good pipe joint will be maintained.

  • Patent number: 4210067
Abstract: Generally rectangular paperboard frame blanks are fed separately into a horizontal position from a stack at one end of a first leg portion of an L-shaped assembly line, and air filter mats are fed respectively to the frame blanks. Each edge portion of a frame blank is scored to provide three spaced parallel fold lines. As each frame blank with an air filter mat is conveyed along the assembly line, glue is applied along two spaced parallel glue lines on each of a first pair of opposite edge portions and the edge portions are doubly folded. Then the blank and mat are shifted at right angles and conveyed along the second leg portion of the L-shaped assembly line where the gluing and folding operations are repeated for the second pair of opposite edge portions.

  • Patent number: 4181287
Abstract: Apparatus for molding rigid foam components of semicircular cross section suitable for insulating pipes and the like. A female molding component is formed of sheet metal material supported by a plurality of spaced, rigid crossmembers. This female component supports a top panel, the underside of which, in turn, supports a male mold component the semicylindrical surface of which is formed of sheet metal material which is supported by a plurality of spaced, semicircular rigid support members. When the mold is charged with an expansible foam, the pressure thereof serves to maintain the integrity of the mold profile. The design of the mold permits its fabrication utilizing relatively inexpensive material thus permitting the formation of rigid insulative foam segments at desirable unit cost levels.
