Abstract: A water heater tank assembly having a shell with top and bottom heads welded in opposite ends thereof. The heads have aligned flue tube mounting openings therein in which metal collar members are welded. Flue tubes are mounted in and welded to the collar members. The collar members serve as a heat sink to prevent damage to the glass lining on the shell, head members and flue tubes during the various welding operations.
Abstract: A stripper applicator employs a positive displacement gear pump to spray high viscosity stripper materials. The gear pump is driven at a reduced speed by an electric motor. A pressure relief valve is inserted in the outlet port of the gear pump to adjust the delivery pressure of the liquid. A large diameter suction line draws the liquid from a container to the pump without priming, and a dump line returns overflow liquid from the relief valve to the container. The stripper applicator is capable of delivering 1.5 gallons per minute of liquid at relatively low pressure to the delivery hose, which terminates in a spray gun. The electric motor and gear pump are mounted to a portable and light weight chassis.

Abstract: A refuse container has a two-position lid. The two positions are achieved by means of a J-shaped slot in a lid hinge. The slot receives a horizontal shaft supported in the container body. In the first open position, gravity acts on the lid such that the shaft is at one end of the slot, and the lid hinge abuts a pad on the container body for maintaining the lid at an angle of approximately 105.degree. from a horizontal closed position. To pivot the lid to the second open position, the lid is lifted such that the slot slides over the shaft until the hinge clears the container body pad, at which point the lid is pivotable to approximately 270.degree. with respect to the horizontal closed position.
