  • Patent number: 6321743
Abstract: A method and apparatus for combustion of a fuel and oxidant in which at least a portion of a fuel and at least a portion of an oxidant are introduced into an annular region formed by an outer tubular member closed off at one end and an inner tubular member open at both ends concentrically disposed within the outer tubular member, forming a fuel/oxidant mixture. The fuel/oxidant mixture is ignited in the annular region, forming products of combustion therein. The products of combustion are then exhausted through the inner tubular member providing oxidant preheating prior to forming the fuel/oxidant mixture.

  • Patent number: 6314793
Abstract: A test device for measuring chemical emissions to the atmosphere from a leaking component that includes a housing containing an air mover for drawing ambient air directly into the housing. The air mover is capable of operating at a high flow rate and a low flow rate. A detector for detecting the presence of a chemical emission is positioned within the housing as well as a calculator for measuring the concentration of the chemical emission. Air is drawn directly into a housing at a low flow rate in a survey mode and once a leak is detected air is drawn directly into the housing at a high flow rate in a quantification mode. During the quantification mode the calculator determines a leak rate from the leaking component or alternatively indicates that the calculated leak rate is unreliable.

  • Patent number: 6292493
Abstract: A method for controlling multiple access of a transmission channel wherein a plurality of different patterns are assigned to a plurality of sending stations so that each sending station corresponds to a unique pattern, preferably a pattern represented by a Binomial coefficient. Each unique pattern is transmitted from a corresponding sending station to the transmission channel by way of a control minislot. Ternary feedback is received from the control minislot. A summation of different patterns within each control minislot are analyzed to detect whether a collision exists between the different patterns within each control minislot.

  • Patent number: 6286680
Abstract: A pack of bags and a method for producing the bags made of thermoplastic foil, wherein the bags are interlocked into a pack at least in an area of an edge strip and have a perforated tear-off line formed below the interlocked area for separating the bags from the interlocked edge strip. A bag bottom is formed by a weld seam in the area opposite the edge strip wherein, for the purpose of reducing the bag width, each bag of a pack is folded around folding edges extending in a longitudinal extension of the bag and in the folded position is interlocked in an edge area with the pack. The tear line of the folded bags stamped into the pack of bags is designed in a form of sickle-shaped incisions, wherein the sickle-shaped incisions extend as far as the longitudinal sides of the pack of bags and are cut through the bags, so that the folded bags are separated at their outer lateral edges from the interlocked edge strip and connecting strips are formed between the sickle-shaped incisions.

  • Patent number: 6238028
Abstract: A rack for a switching cabinet having vertical frame pieces. The vertical frame pieces have two protruding fastening elements, both of which contain a fastening section which is mounted parallel to the associated outer edges of the rack and a profiled side which is vertical to the associated outer edges of the rack. The fastening section and the profile edges have rows of fastening cavities spaced at equal distances from each other. This invention provides greater opportunity for mounting built-in fixtures on the rack frame when the distance between the profiled sides of one fastening attachment and the fastening sections of the other fastening attachment is the same as the distance between the fastening cavities or the space corresponds to a multiple of the dividing gap.

  • Patent number: 6076384
Abstract: A closure for a switchgear cabinet door, machine case or the like, having a safety device. A lock is attached to the switchgear cabinet door, machine case or the like with a first locking element, and a second locking element is attached to the door frame, machine case frame or the like. Both locking elements can be brought into and out of functional connection with each other under the control of an electric signal. Additional locking of the closure can be simply achieved with commercially available locks because the lock has a turnbuckle, which can be rotated by 90.degree., as the first locking element, and an electromagnet is attached to the door frame or the machine case frame, whereby a locking member as the second locking element can be displaced into and out of the pivot range of the turnbuckle.
