Abstract: There is disclosed a disposable and non-reusable syringe which has its piston locked in its forward dispense position after it is used, and the plunger is pulled out from the piston if the plunger is sought to be retracted from the syringe. Abstract: A convertible hair roller includes first and second flexible outer sheets connected together in parallel spaced relation, two parallel memory wires positioned between the sheets and capable of repeated deformation between a straight configuration and a circular configuration, with each memory wire automatically deforming from the straight configuration to the circular configuration upon application of heat of a predetermined temperature thereto so that the first and second sheets also automatically deform into a cylindrical configuration; and heat sink wires positioned transversely with respect to the memory wires between the first and second sheets for retaining heat applied to the hair roller. When heat is removed from the formed memory wires, they retain their circular configuration, but can be manually biased back to their flat configurations.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing adhesively-securable, fingernail coatings and an adhesively-securable fingernail covering product, too. The nail polish-like material is provided in semi-solid form on a sheet of adhesive-backed peel-off paper, which, when removed, exposes the adhesive of the fingernail coatings. The fingernail coatings are, after removal from a substantially air-tight package, cut into individual sections, located on the fingernails and pressed onto the fingernails to secure them there, temporarily, i.e., until they are desirably removed. The edges can then be cut to the length and width, as well as the curvature of the nail on which they are placed. The semi-solid nail enamel product is originally sealed in an air tight envelope to ensure that the coatings do not fully dry out during shipping and storage.

Abstract: A system for producing spectrally pure optical pumping light at a resonant frequency is disclosed for molecular species and atomic isotopes. A Faraday filter is used as a transmission filter, and the frequency overlap between the output of a light source containing the atomic or molecular material and the spectrum of the Faraday filter allows optically pure pumping light to emanate from the filter.
