Abstract: A mobile shelter which provides a canopy that protects from sun and rain. The canopy is mounted on a series of curved rib units that are connected to a triangular support system which is attached at each end to A-Frame supports on wheels.
Abstract: An implantable device grafted directly to vascular structures for high volume blood and/or fluid infusion and/or removal for such purpose as hemodialysis, apheresis, exchange transfusion, or large volume fluid infusion. The device is also adaptable to intermittent access to the venous or arterial circulations for purpose of blood sampling or giving medications. The device is comprised of an implantable fluid chamber connected to a vascular shunt which is then grafted directly to the vascular structure (e.g. artery or vein). The vascular end of the device employs a valve to prevent reflux of blood and subsequent washout of anticoagulant during periods when the device is not in use. The device is accessed percutaneously with a needle or needle-introduced catheter and is filled with anti-coagulant prior to needle withdrawal to prevent thrombosis.

Abstract: A model of a human abdominal wall for use in demonstrating or practicing the use and maintenance of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tubes. The model includes two or more layers bound together, the top or "external" layer approximating the feel and texture of human skin. The second layer approximates the feel and resistance of the subcutaneous tissues in the human abdominal wall. A third layer may be added, approximating the feel and resistance of human stomach tissue. Openings are provided which pass completely through the model to accommodate placement of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tubes.
Abstract: A simplified single cell apparatus and method for removal of suspended impurities in liquids using gas flotation and filtration is provided wherein the method and apparatus are preferably directed to induced gas flotation separation of suspended impurities in combination with a filter media for filtration removal of remaining suspended impurities. A filter media is contained within the single cell apparatus such that liquid exiting the vessel must pass through the filter media after having been subjected to flotation treatment.
Abstract: This invention relates to a separator device for the separation of fine particles from a contaminated liquid. The device utilizes the process of electrolysis to produce small gas bubbles which attach themselves to the fine particles and move the particles to the top of the liquid surface where they can be easily removed. The separation is facilitated by the use of baffles which prevent the formation of convection currents in the body of the separator device, and by inclined plates which direct the rising particles towards the removal point.
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for the separation of immiscible liquids of different specific gravities, using gravity. The process of separation is facilitated, and separation quality is improved by using the process of electrolysis within a gravity separator.
Abstract: A sofa, love seat, sectional or modular furniture arrangement that includes a glider/rocker recliner as an integral part of the sofa or love seat, or as a portion of a sectional or modular furniture arrangement.
Abstract: An aircraft air conditioner refrigerant compressor drive and mounting apparatus for use on aircraft of the type having free rotating power output gears in the accessory pads. The accessory pads accept the mounting of the compressor drive and mounting apparatus to which is mounted an air conditioner refrigerant compressor. The engine power output gear couples with the drive shaft within the compressor drive and mounting apparatus. The drive shaft extends linearly through the compressor drive and mounting apparatus, and is supported by bearings within. Bracket means are provided for mounting an air conditioner refrigerant compressor to the compressor drive and mounting apparatus such that the refrigerant compressor drive shaft is generally parallel with the compressor drive and mounting apparatus drive shaft. A pulley is attached to the refrigerant compressor drive shaft and generally aligned with a pulley on the compressor drive and mounting apparatus drive shaft.
Abstract: A lid for closing the opening of a container, which incorporates a utensil for use in removing, using or consuming the contents of the container, and which further incorporates a handle to facilitate use of the utensil. When not in use the handle components lie flat on the top of the container to allow for stacking of the containers. The handle is formed by rotating the handle halves about a flexible joint and connecting them together such that the handle extends outwardly from the upper surface of the lid.
Abstract: A locking boat propeller cover that completely encloses the propeller whereby unauthorized removal of the propeller is prevented, the propeller is protected from damage, and the risk of injury to people coming into contact with the propeller area is reduced.
Abstract: A process for removing organic compounds, including nitro-hydroxy-aromatic compounds and amines, from alkaline wastewater, and in particular from wastewater generated in the production of nitrobenzene, dinitrobenzene, nitrotoluene and dinitrotoluene. The process involves distilling the alkaline wastewater steam at or near atmospheric pressure until it is concentrated five to twenty-five fold. The distillate includes water, which may be discharged to the environment, subjected to biological treatment, or recycled for use in the production process; and volatile organics, which are phase separated from the aqueous portion of the distillate and which may be recycled to the crude product stream. The concentrated residue from the distillation may be incinerated or subjected to biological treatment.

Abstract: A mechanical seal particularly well suited to use in rotary equipment handling abrasive slurries. The seal comprises a split rotary face biased toward a split stationary face by a cone spring. The cone spring is encased in elastomeric material which includes molded lugs which serve to transfer rotary motion from a drive sleeve to the rotary housing which contains the split rotary face. The seal forms a unitary cartridge which may be pre-set through the use of setting plates which establish a predetermined amount of compression of the cone spring.
Abstract: The invention relates generally to rotary drilling equipment, and more particularly to stabilizers which are specifically adapted for use during directional drilling when only the drill bit is rotated using a down-hole motor, but which are also well suited for use during conventional drilling when the entire drill string is rotated. In a preferred embodiment, this is achieved by using three longitudinal ribs on the stabilizer body, one of which is displaced laterally in a down-hole direction and is radially oriented such that it contacts the low side of the borehole during directional drilling.

Abstract: The solar tracking device disclosed herein is for use on a solar energy collection apparatus and facilitates optimal performance by insuring that the collection apparatus is continuously aligned with the source of the greatest amount of solar flux. The device consists of three photoelectric sensors and a plurality of vanes, each of the photoelectric sensors being connected to a circuit which controls one of three small DC motors, with each DC motor being the controlling means to either increase, decrease, or maintain the speed of the main drive motor which rotates the solar energy collection apparatus.
Abstract: The invention relates generally to rotating saw blade alignment devices, and more particularly to such devices which facilitate the proper alignment of radial arm saws by eliminating the need for a gauge or measuring instrument in the alignment procedure, through the use of perpendicular and parallel components which, when attached to the radial arm saw, require a perpendicualr relationship between the saw blade, the saw table, and the rip fence or fence slot.
