  • Patent number: 7496479
Abstract: A monitoring system in a medical facility provides an identification device to a patient and a data acquisition device to a health-care worker. The identification device wirelessly emits a first signal that identifies the patient and the data acquisition device emits a second signal. A determination is made in response to the first signal and the second signal, whether the health-care worker is absent from being near the patient. For example, absence of the health-care worker is determined when a data reader receives only the first signal. This system detects when a patient requiring continuous observation is not in the presence of a health-care worker. In that case, an alarm message is sent to supervisory personnel.

  • Patent number: 6675725
Abstract: A shelving assembly including at least one shelf member and at least one upright frame member wherein the frame member includes at least vertically arranged couplers and the shelf member includes two other vertically arranged couplers on one lateral edge where the couplers on either the shelf member or frame member include pins and the couplers on the other of the shelf and frame member include slot delineators and where the slot delineators open in the same direction so that, with the pins received within the slot delineators, the shelf member can be detached from the frame member by moving the shelf member in directions perpendicular to pin axis.

  • Patent number: 6636012
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating stator and rotor resistance estimate, the method including the steps of providing high frequency injection voltage signals to a three phase motor, rotating three phase feedback current therefrom, converting the feedback currents to two phase currents that represent the high frequency component of the current vector wherein the d and q axis components are within a two phase voltage coordinate system and driving a regulator via one of the current components to generate a lag angle estimate, the lag angle estimate used to solve any of several different equations to calculate the stator and rotor resistance estimates.

  • Patent number: 6617821
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing parasitic distortion in terminal voltages connected to a PWM inverter, the method comprising the steps of receiving each of a command operating frequency and a command carrier frequency, comparing the command operating frequency to low and high threshold operating frequency values, and where the command operating frequency is less than the low threshold frequency, restricting the carrier frequency to a minimum carrier frequency, where the command operating frequency is greater than the high threshold frequency, setting the carrier frequency equal to the command carrier frequency and, where the operating frequency is between the low and high threshold frequencies, setting the carrier frequency to an intermediate value between the minimum carrier frequency and the commanded carrier frequency.

  • Patent number: 6617950
Abstract: A common mode and differential mode inductance assembly including first and second torridial cores wherein first and second windings are wrapped about first and second segments of the first core and the first core forms a first surface and wherein the second core forms a second surface and is positioned adjacent the first core such that the first and second surfaces oppose each other and a gap is formed between the first and second surfaces.
