Abstract: Apparatus for covering a used hypodermic syringe needle including a base, a pair of covers mounted movably to the base and at least one latching member mounted on the base, the covers are for being moved into a closed position covering the used syringe needle, the covers are provided with engaging members making the movement of each cover dependent on the movement of the other cover, and the latching member is for engaging the engaging members to lock both covers in the closed position. In the preferred embodiment a pair of latching members are mounted on the base and each latching member is for independently engaging the engaging members to cause either or both of the latching members to lock both of the covers in the closed position.
Abstract: A multi-lumen hose including a corrugated peripheral wall including an interior area and having an inner surface which defines a diameter, and at least one substantially planar inner partition extending from the inner surface across at least half of the diameter of the peripheral wall so as to divide the interior area into a plurality of lumen.
Abstract: Radio interface apparatus in combination with a lapel mounted microphone and speaker and a radio and with or without a head-protective helmet, radio interface apparatus in combination with a lapel-mounted radio and with or without a head-protective helmet, and radio interface apparatus for being mounted to the nape device of a head-protective helmet.

Abstract: A head-protective helmet comprising a geodesic dome. A further feature is the geodesic dome in combination with other elements providing a head-protective helmet.
Abstract: A heat absorber including a container providing an internal cavity, phase change material, such as microencapsulated phase change material, residing in the cavity, the container including at least one wall of thermally conductive material in thermal contact with the phase change material, such one wall provided with a plurality of spaced apart and inwardly extending members of thermally conductive material extending inwardly into the cavity and into and in thermal engagement with the phase change material, upon heat being transferred to the phase change material the phase change material changes phase and absorbs the heat. Such heat absorber in combination with electrical apparatus which produces heat when operating.
Abstract: A cap for venting a tank containing a fluid which expands in response to heat applied externally to the tank and which cap includes an outer annular nut, an inner circular central disc, and an intermediate annular ring of polymer-based material which softens in response to the externally applied heat to permit the inner circular central disc to be blown out of the outer annular nut thereby venting the tank and preventing the tank from exploding.
Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing articles including isolation structure isolating the first end of an article producing machine from the second end of the machine to permit a higher level of cleanliness to be established at the first machine end where the articles are actually manufactured than at the second machine end.

Abstract: Apparatus for preventing blockage or occlusion of a fluid flow path, such as a flow path through which a patient's exhalation gas flows, and/or, which apparatus prevents the fluid flow path from becoming deadheaded.
Abstract: A composite tracheostomy tube or cannula comprising a rigid inner tube and a relatively soft outer tube. One or more ducts or chambers are formed between the outer surface of the inner tube and the inner surface of the outer tube. A sealing or mounting flange is attached to the composite tube adjacent one thereof. A balloon or inflatable cuff is attached to the outer surface of the outer tube adjacent the opposite end of the composite tube. A conduit for connection to a fluid source is provided to selectively inflate and/or deflate the inflatable cuff. An inner tube or cannula is removably inserted into the tracheostomy tube. The inner cannula includes a preferred gripping device at the proximal end thereof.
Abstract: Process and apparatus for providing a HEPA air shower to the critical fill zone of the liquid filling operation for preventing entry of particulate, non-viable and viable particulate, into the critical filling zone by providing opposed flows of pressurized HEPA air, by providing opposed laminar flows of pressurized HEPA air, or by providing a single laminar flow of pressurized HEPA air to the critical filling zone to provide the HEPA air shower.
