  • Patent number: 7437791
Abstract: An apparatus for removing Japanese beetles and other insects from blueberries and other small produce without damaging or discarding any produce. The apparatus includes a produce conveyer formed by a plurality of elastic bands trained around four traverse rollers. A plurality of brushes are suspended above the top conveyer run and a plurality of rakes are supported between the top conveyer run. The brushes have soft, flexible bristles, which extend downward to contact the blueberries as it moves past the brushes carried atop the conveyer. The rakes have a plurality of spaced fingers that extend upward at an angle between adjacent conveyer bands. As the blueberries pass under the brushes, the bristles lightly contact the berries to gently turn the berries so that the beetles hang from the underside of the berries where they are knocked off the berries by the rake fingers.

  • Patent number: 7419204
Abstract: The powered ramp door lift is used in cargo trailers and other ramp door applications and includes a powered winch assembly, a pair of wire cables or nylon straps connecting the winch assembly to the ramp door, and a “pusher” mechanism. The winch assembly mounted to the trailer header winds and unwinds the cables onto a pair of spools mounted to a drive shaft, which is driven by an electric motor. The “pusher” mechanism prevents the “unspooling” problems that effect the operation of winches in automated ramp door applications. The pusher mechanism engages the ramp door in the closed position and applies an outward force to the ramp door over a small portion of its travel to assist in the initial lowering of the ramp door from the closed position. The winch assembly also includes a cable tension winch shut off mechanism, which deactivates the winch motor in the absence of any tension on cables.

  • Patent number: 7264299
Abstract: The hood cover is constructed from a sheet of elastic, weather-resistant fabric, which allows the hood cover to stretch tightly around the peripheral edges of the vehicle hood and lie flat across the top surface of the vehicle hood. The hood cover is secured to the vehicle hood by a draw string and by two adjustable tension straps. The first tension strap pulls the hood cover tight around rear hood corners. The second tension strap pulls the hood cover tight around the convex leading edge and the concave rear edge of the vehicle hood. The fabric from which the hood cover is constructed prevents the distortion of decorative graphic artwork within certain areas of the hood cover. The blend, weave and sett of the fabric gives the hood cover “sequential elasticity” that allows fabric stretch to be isolated and localized around the periphery of the vehicle hood so that the central area of the hood cover remains primarily “un-stretched.
