  • Patent number: 4874205
Abstract: A dual sided recliner assembly which minimizes interference and wear of the teeth of the engaging parts while providing a compact and enclosed construction for longer service life. The backrest of the seat is secured between opposed moving plates, each one including a recessed area having two arcuate slots and an arcuate rack along one of the edges within the recessed area. The width of the opening provided in one of the slots is uniform whereas the width of the opening within the other slot is irregular such that a portion of its length is wider than the other portion. The moving plate is rotatably supported on a stationary plate and a coil power spring biases the moving plate toward a fully reclined forward position. The stationary plate also includes a recessed area which is opposed to the recessed area in the moving plate when the plates are assembled. A pawl is contained between the recesses of the plates for movement therein.

  • Patent number: 4858866
Abstract: A radiator restraining assembly which permits limited flexing of the radiator while retaining it in its desired position. The radiator restraining assembly generally comprises a ring mounted to the radiator, a resilient bushing within the ring, and a fastener inserted into the bushing. The fastener includes a bearing portion which engages a washer element that is positioned between the bearing portion and the bushing. The restraining assembly holds the radiator in a desired position while allowing flexing of the unit about the axis of the fastener. Moreover, the construction provides longevity to the flexing and shock absorbing characteristics of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4858559
Abstract: A disposable pet toilet unit is disclosed having a body portion within which a deodorizing, absorbent, granular material is contained for use by household pets to defecate and urinate. The body portion is made of a moisture-proof material and includes a bottom and a plurality of sides extending upwardly from the bottom to form an opening. A moisture-proof film is secured to the body portion and gatherable about the opening thereof by a closure, such as a drawstring. Thus, when the deodorizing, absorbent, granular material becomes sufficiently soiled so as to no longer adequately deodorize and absorb odor and moisture, the drawstring may be pulled to gather the film together about the opening to substantially seal it. In this manner, the disposable pet toilet unit may be transported and discarded without spillage or leakage of the soiled, deodorizing, absorbent, granular material.

  • Patent number: 4854392
Abstract: A hose positioning and tensioning assembly for a vehicle having a transverse scraper blade supported on the forward end of the vehicle for relative movement. A plurality of hydraulic fluid lines extend from the lower forward end of the vehicle to the rear of the blade in an arch. The hose positioning and tensioning assembly holds the fluid line arch in an upright position and maintains a tension on the arch during any movement of the blade relative to the vehicle. Further, the hose positioning and tensioning assembly permits the blade to be moved without interfering with or twisting the hydraulic fluid lines.

  • Patent number: 4846176
Abstract: A thermal bandage including a conforming member which is adapted to be placed against the skin to uniformly heat or cool the skin area, a thermal pack which is mounted to the conforming member to provide the necessary thermal change to heat or cool the adjacent skin area and the thermal conducting surface interposed between the conforming member and a thermal pack to separate them and to facilitate heat transfer between them. In the preferred embodiment, the conforming member has a thin pliable outer material enclosing a heat conductive substance such as a glycol gel or liquid. The conductive substance readily conforms to the contours of the body portion so that the conforming members is in complete contact with the skin to insure uniform heat transfer therebetween. The thermal pack of the preferred embodiment is flexible and has a fluid flow chamber therein for the circulation of a thermal fluid.

  • Patent number: 4842319
Abstract: A deflector shield for a motor vehicle is characterized by having a molded, wrap-around shield assembly along the horizontal and vertical side edges of the hood portion directly behind the grille which is secured in place by elongated flexible, shock mounting strips at spaced intervals along the horizontal edge and vertical sides of the hood portion, and a molded wrap-around cover plate in overlapping relation to the horizontal edge and opposite vertical side edges of the shield; and molded guard members are dispoed in overlying relation to a surrounding portion of the front grille of the vehicle together with front fender guard members which conform to and are disposed in overlying relation to the front fender and headlight portions of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4827636
Abstract: A trenching machine including a digging boom rotatably attached to a tractor and a digging chain rotatably mounted on the digging boom wherein a crumber assembly is provided that is rotatable between work and transport positions. The crumber assembly includes a support boom attached to the digging boom, a crumber rotatably attached to the support boom, and an actuator for rotating the crumber. The crumber may be folded toward the support boom so that the digging chain of the trenching machine can be moved into close proximity with a vertical wall, such as a building foundation, thereby minimizing or eliminating the need for manual excavation adjacent to the wall.

  • Patent number: 4828044
Abstract: A dozer blade mounting assembly for angling and tilting the blade, while preventing pitching, without inducing stresses in the assembly. The blade is supported on a conventional C-frame by a universal connection in the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The mounting assembly includes a mast assembly connected to the frame midportion and extending upwardly from the frame, a pair of hydraulic angling cylinders connected between the side portions of the blade and the mast assembly adjacent the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, a tilt cylinder connected between the frame and the mast assembly and a bracket assembly supporting the upper portion of the blade and preventing pitching of the blade. The bracket assembly includes a bracket member having an elongated slot extending generally parallel to the blade and a slide block having a width substantially equal to the width of the slot which floats within the slot to allow tilting of the blade, but preventing pitch of the blade.
