Abstract: The specification and drawing figures describe and show an implant placement system that includes one or more graphic representations of a proposed dental implant site, and a device for determining bone and soft tissue data at the proposed dental implant site (“site”). A model is formed of the site for portraying dental implant site data. A variety of tools are sued to determine the size and angulations of the dental implant. After cutting the model, additional tools are used for drawing a graphic on the model. A pin, formable material and an implant guide are provided to transfer the placement information to the site. A drill is use to form a channel for the implant device.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for lining ditches is provided. The apparatus and method for lining ditches, according to the present invention, includes a plurality of substantially corrugated liner sections, preferably made of a thermoplastic material such as polyethylene. Each liner section is designed to be assembled by detachably engaging ends of ditch liner sections. A sealant that does not bond with the material from which the liner sections are made may also be included. An inlet/outlet channel is included. The inlet/outlet channel is removably connectable with at least one end of a liner section by snapping together the two components. A liner section in the form of a splitter section also is provided. A splitter section permits rerouting the flow of water in a variety of directions through a ditch lined with the apparatus of the present invention. Also, a diverter section is included for diverting water from one flow direction through the ditch to a point or area of application of water.

Abstract: An anti-vehicle security system that includes a truss assembly formed with a plurality of monolithic stanchions. A container having a hinged door is fixed on the truss assembly. The system also includes two spaced-apart guides that extend from within the container to a portion of the truss assembly in ground contact. A gravitationally deployable restraining device, which may be stored in and deployed from the container, includes sleeves, clips and keepers to deploy the restraining device to snare a vehicle.

Abstract: A sheath for a folding tool such as a folding knife that is variably positionable during use. A variably positionable knife, according to the present invention, includes a sheath formed with a cavity. At least one rail is formed in the cavity. A chamber juxtaposed to the cavity also is formed in the sheath. The chamber is substantially hollow, and is formed to allow removable insertion of a locking tongue. The locking tongue includes a dome segment that applies pressure on the rail. A disk is included. The disk is rotatably mountable on the sheath, and includes a plurality of pegs. A hole is formed in for insertion of a connector. A groove is formed in the disk. In addition, the sheath includes a plug formed with a slot. An elastic o-ring is placed in both the groove and slot. The sheath also includes a block formed with a plurality of apertures in which the pegs are positionable. A band is engaged with the block for securing the sheath on a user.

Abstract: An automated carrier-based pest control system is provided, and includes a substantially automated sprayer. The system also includes a container in fluid communication with the substantially automated sprayer for holding a mixture of carrier-based ingredients, including one or more ingredients, for discharge from the substantially automated sprayer. Also includes is one or more discharge control units operably connectable to the substantially automated sprayer and to the container for regulating discharge of the mixture of carrier-based ingredients.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a portable variably positionable seating device is provided. The apparatus and method for providing a portable variably positionable seating device, according to the present invention, includes a plurality of tines. In one embodiment, at least two of tines include a boom that swivels on one end of the tines. Also included are one or more removable panels that engage with the tines and will support a person. A support assembly is also provided, and is pivotally connectable to the tines. The support assembly includes at least a first tube. A plurality of arms, pivotally connected to the tines and to the support assembly, are included. Also included is a carriage device. The carriage device is slidably and rotationally positioned on the first tube of the support assembly. A plurality of legs, pivotally attached to the carriage device, are included.

Abstract: A super-chilled air induction apparatus includes a thermoelectric cooling device. The thermoelectric cooling device includes a passage for conducting air. A valve is provided to regulate the flow of cold air from the apparatus into a fuel-air mixture. A heat sink is positioned adjacent the cooling device to contribute to lowering air temperature in the apparatus. An insulator is included for maintaining the cold air temperature with in the cooling device. A temperature gauge allows an operator to determine the air temperature in the thermoelectric cooling device, and a controller allows the operator to control discharge of the super-chilled air into an air-fuel mixture.

Abstract: A ditch liner system is provided. The ditch liner system includes a plurality of removably engageable corrugated ditch liners. Each of the removably engageable corrugated ditch liners is monolithically formed with a compressibly connectable member at one end, and a coupling channel at the other end. The compressibly connectable member, and the coupling channel, are reciprocally and compressibly connectable. A duct is formed in the compressibly connectable member for insertion of a sealant. A groove is formed in the coupling channel for inserting one or more connectors. An adapter is provided for directing water from the ditch.

Abstract: A system for directing light from a luminaire. The system for directing light from a luminaire, according to the present invention, includes a source of light. A first reflecting device is installed in the luminaire for reflecting light from the source of light and directing substantially indirect lighting from the luminaire. The first reflecting device is formed with an opening. The opening allows unreflected light to pass through the first reflecting device to a second reflecting device mounted in the luminaire. The first reflecting device includes a window mountable in the opening for diffusing light. The first reflecting device also includes a lens. The second reflecting device is a multiple surface reflector assembly for directing a combination of direct lighting and luminous lighting from the luminaire through and along a fascia that is engageable with the luminaire.

Abstract: A system for ornamenting a key. The system for ornamenting a key according to the present invention includes a casing. One or more threaded rods with casing are provided for securing a key or key blank within the casing. In an alternative embodiment, a bore, a notch, and a tray formed with a neck for securing a key or key blank using one or more threaded rods is provided. The casing itself may be ornamented, and the securing a key or key blank within the casing also may be ornamented. The key is removably securable within the casing.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for variably discharging one or more ingredients other than water on an animal. A nozzle operatively connected to a valve discharges the ingredients. The animal is detected by a either an ultrasonic sensor, a diffused deflective infrared sensor, or single sensing probe sensor. A variety of structural members selectively position the apparatus in relation to the animal. A programmable controller varies the discharge of ingredients on the animal from a continuous application to a variety of interrupted sequences. A timer assembly schedules applications of ingredients on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing a substantially straight instrument image is provided. The apparatus and method for producing a substantially straight instrument image, according to the present invention includes a curved slit. The curved slit may be formed in a light beam controller. The curved slit is capable of admitting a light beam into the instrument. The instrument parameters associated with optical devices located in the instrument in the path of the light beam are determined. One or more formulae are used to transform and process the instrument spectral parameters to determine the shape or curvature of the curved slit.

Abstract: A self-aligning arbor nut system is disclosed. The self-aligning arbor nut system, according to the present invention, includes a body formed with a duct substantially coincident with the longitudinal axis of the body. A substantially circular ring known as a swivel also is provided. The ring is engageable with either end of the duct. An o-ring is included. The o-ring is engageable with a groove in the wall of the ring, and with a slot formed on the inner surface of the duct at both ends of the duct to reverse engagement of the nut with an arbor. The swivel is engageable with at least one end of the body, and in fact is engageable with both ends of the body. When mounted on an arbor, the swivel aligns and helps prevent a bent or distorted arbor. A circumferential depression may be formed around the outside surface of the body. One or more bores is formed in the circumferential depression for manipulation with a key.

Abstract: A housing and hub for an apparatus for securing a workpiece to a rotatable machine member are provided. The machine may include a lathe. The workpiece includes a rotor such a brake rotor. The apparatus includes a hub slidably engageable with a rotatable driven shaft of the lathe. The hub is formed with a first banded channel. Also included is a centering device axially positionable on the shaft. A spring having a distal end demountably insertable in the hub, and a proximal end connectable to the centering device, is included. The apparatus also includes a retaining ring attachable to the hub for retaining the centering device in the hub. A housing is provided that is freely movable axially on the shaft for securing the rotor substantially vertically on the shaft. The housing is formed with a second banded channel. A locking nut is included to secure the components of the apparatus on a machine member.

Abstract: A removably mountable cleat. The cleat includes a plate. One end of a shaft is connected to the plate. The shaft may be connected substantially to the center of the plate. The other end of the shaft is formed with threads for removably mounting the cleat on footwear. The plate and shaft are inserted into a mold containing a compressively yieldable elastomeric material which forms a body around the plate and the shaft. The elastomeric body also is formed with a lower surface that comes in contact with turf or other facilities and equipment associated with a sport and athletic activity. The lower surface of the elastomeric body that may be in contact with turf or other facilities and equipment associated with a sport and athletic activity is formed to include one or more concentric annular rings. The lower surface of the elastomeric body also is formed with a hemispherical chamber within the smallest of the concentric annular rings.

Abstract: An apparatus for reducing harmonics and vibrations of a rotatable base piece, such as a brake rotor to be resurfaced or refinished, is provided. A plurality of interconnected chain links are included. The plurality of chain links are sized for maximum contact with the rotatable base piece. The plurality of chain links are interconnected to form a belt assembly open at the ends. One or more demountably selectively attachable connectors for securing the belt assembly to the rotatable base piece also are included. In a preferred embodiment, the one or more demountably selectively attachable connectors is a spring member. Each spring member includes a nonidentical length arm extending monolithically from the ends of the spring member. In addition, a semi-circular hook members is provided on one end of the nonidentical length arm. No other mechanical structural elements are included.
