Abstract: An ice fishing submarine for carrying an end portion of a fishing line radially away from an ice fishing hole comprising: i) a hull enclosing a propulsion system which includes a battery which powers an electric motor which turns a propeller; ii) a power switch to begin propulsion away from the ice hole; and, iii) a tether having an unfixed end secured to the submarine and configured to interrupt power to the propulsion system when the tether becomes taut. When the submarine travels the distance of the length of the tether radially away from the ice hole the tether then becomes taut thereby automatically switching power off to the propulsion system of the submarine, and thereby eliminating the necessity of running control wires extending down through the ice hole to the submarine and monitoring the travel of the submarine to turn off power at an appropriate time.

Abstract: An apparatus for covering goods, and goods stacked on a pallet with plastic wrap supplied in a roll comprises: a) a roll head adapted to rotatably carry the roll of plastic wrap, the roll head having a friction mechanism so that ease of rotation of the roll with respect to the head is controlled thereby facilitating stretching the wrap around the goods after an end portion of the wrap is initially secured adjacent to the goods; and, b) an elongate handle portion carrying the roll head and extending therefrom in a direction generally parallel to the axis of the roll of plastic wrap.

Abstract: A portable lamp for demonstration of a sports theme comprises: a) a base; b) a supporting member projecting from the base having an upper end portion; and, c) a generally spherical light source carrying lamp head, carried by the upper end portion of the upright shaft, having an outer segment and a diametrically smaller inner segment, said segments generally semi-spherical and having opposite end portions pivotally attached. Then the segments can be rotated closed to generally form a sphere, or alternatively rotated so that the sphere then has an open segment and the light source therein can radiate light therethrough. Light emitted through the open segment can be controlled by varying a width of said open segment. Most preferably the supporting member comprises an upright shaft capable of manipulation so that its upper end portion can be positioned at a selected angular orientation with respect to the base.

Abstract: A simple and effective apparatus and method is disclosed for identifying the presence of an emergency vehicle in the immediate vicinity of a motor vehicle. This apparatus may be readily mounted and will not produce false alarms. The apparatus comprises: a transmitting unit, positioned within the emergency vehicle and having an activation circuit that turns on a digital identification data encoder that modulates an R.F. transmitter producing a digital data stream which is connected to a broadcast antenna; and, a receiving unit, carried by a motor vehicle so that it may be warned if the emergency vehicle is in its immediate vicinity having and having a R.F. receiver that demodulates a received digital data stream and then activates an alert pulse generator which is connected to an alarm means if the digital identification code matches the digital identification encoded in the transmitting unit.
