Abstract: A set top terminal of the present invention includes: a tuner unit for receiving a signal from an external input terminal and selecting a signal of a predetermined frequency; a signal processing unit for decoding the selected signal; a modulation unit for outputting a signal obtained by decoding the selected signal from an external output terminal; a control unit for controlling the tuner unit, the signal processing unit and the modulation unit; a power source unit for supplying power to the tuner unit, the signal processing unit, the modulation unit and the control unit, respectively; and a main board on which the tuner unit, the signal processing unit, the modulation unit and the control unit are placed, wherein the tuner unit, the signal processing unit, the modulation unit, the control unit and the power source unit are separate individual bodies.

Abstract: A handle for a paint roller frame includes an inner core made of a substantially rigid plastic material and an outer grip made of a softer rubber-like material surrounding the inner core and extending part way around both ends thereof. At the outer end of the inner core is an internally threaded opening surrounded by a planar end wall. The outer grip includes an outer end portion overlying the planar end wall which acts like a locking washer, resisting unscrewing of an extension pole from the threaded opening when the extension pole is screwed down tight and a flange at a base of the extension pole threads comes into contact with the outer end portion of the outer grip overlying the planar end wall.

Abstract: A hydrostatic drain plug/outlet assembly comprises a hollow body (1) with an inlet port and an outlet port for connection to a fluid conduit. A slidable valve member (6) is movable between a locked open position and a locked closed position via an intermediate position at which the valve member (6) is urged into sealing engagement with a sealing member (3) by a spring (21) which supports a hydrostatic pressure of predetermined magnitude beyond which excess hydrostatic pressure is relieved by the valve member to prevent fluid overflow in a vessel. The valve member is moved between the locked open position and the locked closed position by rotation of valve member (6).

Abstract: An image compression-coding device includes a level conversion circuit for adaptively reducing the amplitude of the quantification coefficient data based on statistical characteristics of the quantification coefficient data. The device further includes a selection circuit for selectively outputting either the quantification coefficient data after the level conversion or the quantification coefficient data before the level conversion, so that the image compression-coding device outputs a smaller amount of variable-length codes.
