  • Patent number: 6006900
Abstract: A mezuzah having a base portion which is permanently mountable to a doorway fixture, and having a housing portion with a bore in one of its ends for receiving a scroll bearing Biblical text therein, with the housing member being slidably engageable with the doorway mounted elongated base member. The lower, bore communicating end of the housing member abuts a sealing member of the base member upon engagement of the housing member to the base member to effectively seal the bore in which the scroll is disposed to prevent the scroll from falling out and to shelter the scroll. The scroll may be periodically checked for integrity or replaced by sliding the housing member off of the base member to gain easy access to the bore, with the housing member then slidable back onto the base member to secure the scroll in the housing member. A latch may be provided to selectively prevent slidable disengagement of the housing member from the base member.

  • Patent number: 5956925
Abstract: A carrier tape suitable for facilitating in-line washing of components for use in pick-and-place operations. The components are loaded into their respective pockets after emerging from one or more forming machines, with the components having lubricant remaining thereon, and are placed into respective pockets of the carrier tape with lubricant remaining on the components. The carrier tape has a plurality of pockets for receiving respective components, with the pockets having washing openings through which cleaning fluid is imparted to the components and allowed to drain from the pockets as the pockets are passed through washing and drying stations. After being washed and dried, a cover strip is detachably adhered to the carrier tape to maintain the components in their respective pockets.

  • Patent number: 5852410
Abstract: An optical path degradation detecting device having a laser distance detector which uses a laser beam to detect the distance between two objects and which generates distance signals representative of the distance between the two objects. A first predetermined point signal is generated upon the distance signals being in a distance representative of a first predetermined distance or less, and a second predetermined point signal is generated upon the distance signals being in a distance representative of a second predetermined distance or less, wherein the second predetermined distance is less than the first predetermined distance. A fault signal is generated if the second predetermined point signal is generated within a predetermined time interval relative to the generation of the first predetermined point signal.

  • Patent number: 5823337
Abstract: A carrying case is provided comprising an outer shell of rigid material enclosing an interior storage compartment. The outer shell has a base section and a lid, the base section having a bottom wall with front, rear and spaced apart end walls upstanding therefrom. The lid has a top wall, with front, rear, and spaced apart end walls depending therefrom. A pair of pivot mounts are associated with the end walls of the base section to which the end walls of the lid are pivotally attached. The pivot mounts, rear wall of the lid, and rear wall of the base section cooperate to limit rotation of the lid to approximately 90 degrees from the closed position to the stable, fully open position. The rear wall of the lid is further inwardly contoured to provide a comfortable fit between the case and the body of a wearer when the wearer carries the case using a provided shoulder strap.

  • Patent number: 4292057
Abstract: A reverse blow-back dust collector utilizes a simplified top removal support arrangement for suspending bag, cage and nozzle assemblies from a tube sheet having plain mounting openings therein. The top removal support includes a collar spot welded to the cage and disposed in force fit engagement with a top fold region of the bag which contains an expansion clamping ring assembly having spaced beads which interlock the bag in sealed relation in its corresponding tube sheet opening. The support also includes a flange which overlies and seats on the upper bead for transmitting cage loads thru the support to the top side of the tube sheet. Ease of assembly and removal affords improved installation and servicing operations.

  • Patent number: 4263487
Abstract: Load break air switch incorporating quick make and break mechanical operator that includes arming and load release levers rotatable about separate parallel axes. A pair of compression springs are connected in uni-directional force transmitting relation between the arming and load release levers and are respectively disposed on opposite sides of the plane defined by the foregoing axes. Latching structure is provided to prevent rotation of the load release lever upon rotation of the arming lever until a predetermined amount of energy is stored in one of the compression springs. Improved pivot structure is provided for providing enhanced current transfer, the pivot incorporating a louvered contact band.

  • Patent number: 4153456
Abstract: There is disclosed a method for producing improved quality photographs on microfilm and improved quality diazo microfiche duplicates. A negative half-tone image of a real world subject is produced on a photosensitive medium. A negative of that image is then formed on microfilm, such negative being a positive half-tone image of the real world subject. Diazo duplicates are then made, if desired, using the negative image (positive half-tone image of the real world subject) on the microfilm as the master.
