Abstract: A temperature controller unit for use in a gas laser resonator structure using a gas lasing medium excited within a resonator cavity having reflective optical surfaces for producing a beam of coherent radiation, and the gas lasing medium being circulated through a heat exchanger to maintain a predetermined lasing temperature range. The temperature controller unit includes a tubular member of substantial length forming a primary chamber for conducting said gas lasing medium through the heat exchanger in a non-contaminating environment to reduce gas contaminate buildup on the optical surfaces in the resonator cavity, end caps sealably closing the ends of the tubular member and receiving gas lasing medium from the resonator structure, and an outlet tube having an open end positioned within the primary chamber for conveying the gas lasing medium for recirculation to the resonator structure.
Abstract: A reverse cycle heat reclaim coil in a refrigeration system having compressor, condenser and receiver means on the high side, including first valve means for selectively connecting the heat reclaim coil between the compressor discharge side and the condenser means to obtain heat reclamation during winter operations, and second valve means for selectively connecting the heat reclaim coil between the condenser and receiver means to obtain refrigerant subcooling during summer operations. The invention also includes the method of selectively connecting the heat reclaim coil in reverse cycle refrigerant flow in seasonal heat reclamation and subcooling modes.

Abstract: A hard surfaced heavy duty cutting tool having an abrasive insert and method for hard surfacing and bonding metallic materials. The composition used in hard surfacing comprises a slurry coating including a high nickel, metal alloy powder and a fluxing agent. The slurry composition is fused at temperatures of about 1830.degree.-1925.degree. F. to bond an abrasive cutting element, such as tungsten carbide in a base metal matrix, to a cutting tool to form the primary working element thereof. The slurry composition is also fused at the same temperature range to form a wear surface of the tool adjacent to the abrasive insert as a hard surface, wear resistant coating in which abrasive compounds and other materials may be incorporated.
Abstract: An ice sleeve cooler for beer kegs or other beverages comprising a slip-over ice sleeve open at the bottom and open at the top and having inner and outer sleeve members with an ice pocket therebetween. The bottom of the sleeve members are joined in sealed relation and have a draw-string for attachment around the lower side wall of the keg, and both inner and outer sleeve members have top draw-strings for individually attaching these members to the keg. The method of fabricating the ice sleeve cooler from a one-piece sheet of plastic stock involves the steps of folding and sealing the sheet to form the double sleeve members with an integral bottom edge.

Abstract: An outdoor air cooled condenser for a refrigeration installation having at least one refrigeration system circuit and including a condenser coil with a heat transfer surface, a condenser housing having air inlet and outlet means for the passage of air across said heat transfer surface, the outlet means including a primary outlet with air flow control means therefor and a plurality of secondary outlets with air displacement means and damper means associated therewith, sensing means for sensing a predetermined condition of refrigerant in the condenser coil, control circuit means for monitoring and integrating the sensed refrigerant condition with respect to a predetermined ideal condition set point value for the refrigeration system circuit and for operating the air flow control means and air displacement means for controlling the amount of air passing through the housing and across the heat transfer surface.

Abstract: A flow-through surge receiver for a refrigeration system having compressor, condenser and evaporator means, in which a surge-type receiver forms a reservoir for liquid refrigerant and has a flow-through conduit receiving refrigerant from the condenser means and an outlet for passing such refrigerant directly to the evaporator means in by-pass relation with the receiver reservoir, and a passageway for establishing fluid communication between said conduit and reservoir below the normal liquid refrigerant level in the reservoir.
