  • Patent number: 5716162
Abstract: A dual-stage mounting system having an auxiliary support. A first set of elastomeric mounts connects the vibratory compactor drum to the auxiliary support and a second set of elastomeric mounts interconnect the auxiliary support to the vehicular frame. The dual-stage mounting system reduces by more than 70% the vibration transmitted from the drum to the primary support by a single-stage isolation mounting system thereby extending the life of the vehicle and improving operator comfort.

  • Patent number: 5425465
Abstract: A valved medication container for facilitating needleless transfer of medication from the container to a patient. Four embodiments of valve members are disclosed. The first embodiment employs a slidable actuator which is engaged by the nose portion of a syringe and deflected into the container through a slit elastomeric membrane. A second embodiment employs a duckbill which the nose of the syringe biases to an open position. The third embodiment uses axially opposed flapper valves which the nose of the syringe pushes open. The fourth embodiment employs a slidable actuator with a T-shaped passageway which is moved to the open position by the syringe. A vent having a one-way valve for influx of air is provided for larger containers.

  • Patent number: 5324141
Abstract: Apparatus for mooring attachment of a floating tension leg platform to a subsea anchorage. The apparatus includes a tendon with an enlarged connector on one end, the connector being formed by a frustoconical bearing surface extending away from the end to which it is connected. A connector shroud partially surrounds the frustoconical surface and is connected to it by an elastomeric bearing. An inwardly sloping surface engages a supplementarily sloped surface formed on the attachment receptacle load ring to increase hoop strength. A side-entry bottom receptacle is also disclosed.
