Abstract: A generally rectangular extender is designed to be secured to the upper face of a turn signal button using a foamed two-sided adhesive to enable, particularly, riders with smaller hands to be able to more safely utilize the turn signal buttons of, for example, models of 1996-2006 Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Abstract: A sensor array made up of 2n piezoelectric oscillators (preferably paired quartz oscillators) is provided in which n equals the number of axes of interest and each one of the pairs of oscillators has a principle axis directed oppositely from the other of its pair. A controller which preferably includes a microprocessor, makes use of the dynamic relationships of the sensors in the array to adaptively assess the magnitude of weighting factors needed to correct the output signal from each oscillator for environmental and systematic effects to provide optimum frequency and phase output for computing position, velocity, and acceleration. Preferably, a seventh reference oscillator is provided in the center of the array which is canted relative to each of the three orthogonal axes by 45°. This adaptive sensor array is capable of determining position within one meter along any of the x, y, and z axes without the need for any external (e.g., GPS) signal.

Abstract: A kinesthetic Chi rope employs a pair of handles, each handle formed as a cylindrical rod with a resonating chamber attached to one end, the chamber having a first coil spring secured as by welding to the internal surface of the chamber and a ball bearing surrounded by the coils which causes an audible vibration when the handle is shaken. A magnet having cylindrical polarity is housed within the cylindrical rod and a second coil spring is compressed between the outer surface of the resonating chamber and the cylindrical magnet, serving as a conductor of the vibratory forces.

Abstract: The tie bar supporting a feed tray (moving mass) is attached to the reaction mass using one leaf spring and one elastomeric spring. The elastomeric spring comprises first and second elastomeric pads which sandwich a portion of the tie bar to which the feed tray is attached. The elastomeric spring operates in shear with the spring rate of the elastomeric spring being adjusted by increasing/decreasing the compressive force exerted by the first and second elastomeric pads on the tie bar. The adjustable vibratory feeder has demonstrated greatly enhanced stability over other existing systems.

Abstract: A tubular length of fabric has a plurality of V's cut on each end. A first end is pulled inside the fabric tube, the V's of the first end are aligned with the V's of the second end and the peripheral edges of the V's sewn together. A hole formed in one layer of the fabric forms the means to covert the garment from a closed-topped hat to a cylindrical tube which can be worn as a variety of garments including a neck gaiter, a face gaiter, an open-topped hat and a head band. The method of making the garment is also set forth.

Abstract: A base is equipped with wheels to receive a paint tray with stabilizing feet and enable the tray to be moved from place to place without the need to pick it up. An upwardly extending flange can be engaged by the paint roller to push/pull it to a new location.

Abstract: A leash for a baby bottle or other food/beverage container has a padded band with a redundant attachment to the shoulder harness strap of a car seat, or the like. Similarly, the second attachment strap for attaching to the bottle has a redundant set of latches to ensure that the bottle is held thereby. The strap suspending the bottle has a dangle length of 3? to 5? to maintain the bottle within easy reach of the child obviating intervention by the parent to restore control of the container to the baby. The second attachment strap is provided with a non-slip fabric for engaging the surface of the container.

Abstract: A series of channels formed in the bow portion of the deck create both a series of wave breakers and a plurality of footrests inside the passenger compartment of this sit-in kayak. The kayak is integrally molded in a single piece and has a contoured seat with a downwardly sloping, rearwardly directed portion. A combination of the footrests and the downwardly sloping, rearwardly directed portion increases leverage available during paddling.

Abstract: A set of rulers for teaching the concept of measurements includes a first ruler having a first group of incremental division lines corresponding to a first group of measured lengths, each line of the first group having a first length and a first color. A second ruler in the set adds a second group of incremental division lines corresponding to a second group of measured lengths, each line of the second group having a second length and a second color, the second group of lines extending from an distal end portion of the first group where the second group of measured lengths corresponds to the first group. A third ruler of the set adds a third group of incremental lines corresponding to a third group of measured lengths, each line of the third group having a third length and color and, where the third group of measured lengths corresponds to the first and second groups, extends from the distal ends of the second group of lines. A method of using the set of rulers to teach is also disclosed.

Abstract: A patient support platform contains medical supplies which are anatomically arranged about the supported patient. The supply compartments and envelopes have see-through closures with pull tabs to make easy identification and access of the items possible. Resilient backing members push the items in the compartments to the front where they are readily accessible. A collapsible IV support pole is stored within the platform and a plurality of apertures provide support locations for the pole. The platform can be rolled up like a bedroll and stored in a satchel for storage and transport.

Abstract: A panel for constructing patio rooms, and the like, has a reinforcing offset I-beam extending along a first edge of the insulative board. A second lateral edge of the board has a reduced thickness portion which fits into the open side of the I-beam and forms two pockets which accommodate the engagement of two sets of spring fingers which positionally locate and secure adjacent panels together.

Abstract: A protective helmet of the type used in football has an external soft elastomer layer to absorb/dissipate some of the energy of an impact. Other features include a quick disconnect face guard, carbon fiber face guard with Kevlar wrap at junction points, a soft foam inner shell inside the intermediate hardened shell, and a head fitting structure including a plurality of pads, visco-elastic cells and at least one inflatable bladder. In addition, the hardened shell may be formed as a lattice frame of strips having a plurality of fibers impregnated with resin. The resin may have a dye added that will indicate if and where an impact exceeding a predetermined value is incurred by the helmet to assist a physician in diagnosing a possible head trauma injury.

Abstract: Attachment hardware is provided to enable a folding bed cover for a pickup truck to be stored on the bed in a substantially vertical position giving access to substantially the entire bed. This hardware includes a latch to secure the lower end against sliding while any of 3 different devices are employed to lock the top of the vertically positioned cover in place. Several embodiments of devices are taught herein, including manual, mechanically-assisted and fully automated devices, for collapsing and lifting the cover into its substantially vertical storage position.

Abstract: A centering roller which is used with reinforced conveyor belts has permanent magnets within its outer shell to attract the steel cables used to reinforce the lateral portions of the belt. Preferably, the permanent magnets are of the rare earth variety to provide increased magnetic attraction and ensure centering of the belt.

Abstract: An emergency light includes a flash light lamp and a plurality of LED lamps activated in strobe-like fashion to alert emergency personnel in transit the proper household needing their assistance. The LED lamps activated in excess of 120 times per minute is visible at distances in excess of one mile. The emergency light may be mounted to a window pane using suction cups, to a steel door or other ferrous-metallic surface using magnetic strips, hung on a door using an integral hanger or stood on a flat bottom surface.

Abstract: A device for storing fish hooks which have lengths of leader attached in an orderly fashion. A thin, generally rectangular piece of plastic has two rows of posts, one extending axially outwardly in alignment with each lateral face. The two rows of posts are laterally offset from one another to facilitate attachment and removal of a loop in the distal end of the leader. A layer of elastomeric material coats at least ? of each face at the opposite end of the body. The hook which is tied to the proximate end of the leader is embedded in the elastomeric layer to maintain the fish hooks in an ordered array. A second embodiment includes an integral storage compartment for lead shot.

Abstract: A rigging system includes a lever arm permitting all speakers supported by the speaker whose rigging is adjusted to be angularly reoriented to focus the system, even out the coverage and fine tune the coverage. Multiple pivot attachment points for the moment arm are provided to enable an enhancement of the angular adjustment provided. A dozen or more angular positions can be provided for the lever arm to facilitate the trial-and-error method of optimizing the sound quality within the house.
