  • Patent number: 4066472
Abstract: A scraper nozzle which provides a high pressure, uniform sheet of water. The nozzle is preferably used in the upstream portion of the prewash zone of a warewasher. Wares, such as dishes, are contacted by the sheet of water and the materials on the dishes are scraped off. The nozzle comprises a planar surface and an arcuate surface. The arcuate surface terminates in a discharge edge which is characterized by a plurality of protuberances. The water flows across the discharge edge and forms the uniform sheet of water.

  • Patent number: 4063634
Abstract: A device for holding flatware which flatware is cleaned in a commercial warewashing machine is disclosed. The device is secured to a conventional dolly. A drive wheel on the device engages the conveyor pan. As the dolly moves, the drive wheel oscillates a frame about a fixed axis. The frame carries the baskets which loosely hold the flatware. As the dolly moves the flatware is tossed to and fro eliminating nesting to ensure all surfaces are contacted by the wash water.

  • Patent number: 4040743
Abstract: A meter for measuring the brightness and/or consistency of pulp slurry. An optical probe introduces light energy into the slurry, which energy is transmitted and back-scattered, and reflected orthogonally. Three signals are provided which correspond to the back-scattered, reflected, and transmitted energy. Each of the signals is ratioed against a reference signal which corresponds to the intensity of the energy introduced into the slurry to provide three outputs proportional to the difference between the reference signal and the received signals. The output corresponding to the back-scattered energy is multiplied by the log of the output corresponding to the transmitted energy to produce a measurement of brightness independent of consistency. The output corresponding to the back-scattered energy is divided by the log of the output corresponding to the reflected energy to produce a measurement of consistency which is independent of the pulp brightness.

  • Patent number: 4039450
Abstract: A filter belt is formed into a tube which follows a substantially U-shaped path. Feed is introduced into the tube and by hydrostatic pressure is filtered. The tube is opened and the cake removed and the tube reformed.

  • Patent number: 4009984
Abstract: A vapor injector for use with a fuel combustion system which system has an air intake assembly and a combustion area. The vaporizer includes a platform floating on a reservoir of water. A vacuum chamber is defined by the platform and the surface of the reservoir. The volume of the chamber remains constant regardless of the level of the reservoir. The vaporizer is connected to the air intake assembly. A negative pressure is applied to the chamber and a saturated air stream flows from the chamber and into the combustion area.

  • Patent number: 4004682
Abstract: A conveyor chain for a dishwasher conveyor which is adapted for movement in two directions. The links are pinned such that there is relative oscillatory movement in the horizontal plane and also pivotal motion in a vertical plane. The links include rollers which contact a conveyor pan and a limited top surface to carry trays. The top surface is designed such that if a tray is obstructed, the conveyor chain will continue to run.

  • Patent number: 4004135
Abstract: A Jacquard card is placed in information-transfer relationship with an optical reader. Weave information, including an identification number and number of picks, is placed in a computer. The weave pattern is read row by row and pick by pick and stored on magnetic tape. To retrieve the weave pattern, the magnetic tape is searched and the information is output on paper tape. The paper tape is then used to produce a Jacquard card.

  • Patent number: 3990260
Abstract: A low temperature dehumidifier wherein a high pressure fan removes air from an enclosed skating rink. The fan discharges the air into and through an air-conditioning unit. The use of the fan results in a positive pressure in the air-conditioner upstream of the cooling coil. The pressure increases the temperature of the air; moisture is removed when the air contacts the cooling coil, but ice formation on the coil is prevented. The air is discharged on the downstream side of the coil and experiences a pressure drop, further cooling the air which is returned to the skating rink.

  • Patent number: 3948442
Abstract: An airless snow-making machine is provided in which ice nuclei and water drops are formed separately, commingled, and discharged to form snow-like crystals. The water drops are uniform and are formed by cyclically disturbing linear water streams discharged from an orifice plate of a nozzle assembly. The cyclic disturbance effects the breaking off of water drops of uniform size from the fluid streams.

  • Patent number: 3934123
Abstract: An event recorder which includes a plurality of counters. An interface circuit is provided between the event recorder and a machine, the events of which are to be monitored. Signals corresponding to machine events are accumulated on the counters. A separate display unit having a connector mating with the event recorder is mated with the event recorder and the status of the counters is transferred to the display unit and displayed.
