  • Patent number: 4968171
Abstract: A hingeless assembly for a modular display panel system is disclosed. The hingeless assembly includes a first portion which allows for attachment thereto of a flat plate wall panel and a second section for attaching an adjacent hingeless assembly thereto. The hingeless assembly of the present invention may be joined to another hingeless assembly with an angle of from zero to ninety degrees therebetween so as to form a display panel system of virtually any shape conceivable. The hingeless assembly attachment portion comprises an extending circular member and an extending parallel arranged cup-like member. The attachment portion of the hingeless assembly allows for connection thereto of another hingeless assembly with the cup-like and circular members of one of the assemblies respectively fitting with the circular member and the cup-like member of the other assembly so as to form a rotatable angle therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4951851
Abstract: The configuration of a thickened tube holder which flares outwardly at its downstream portion leaving an undercut which is engaged by a rocker arm spring loaded assembly. The pour tube is provided with a collar at its upstream portion, and an undercut mount immediately beneath the collar. Means are provided to induce a vertical force component on the undercut mount in the form of a clamping member which secures the pour tube holder to a depending pour tube mount. In all of the embodiments, compression is induced in the pour tube holder and at the interface between the pour tube and the pour tube holder to inhibit aspiration. Quick disconnect is also provided, and quick makeup for changing pour tubes and pour tube holders.

  • Patent number: 4918391
Abstract: A salt sensor is disclosed which is portable and easily handled by a person at a restaurant or in his home for determining the sodium content of the food or beverage he is about to consume. The salt sensor includes a uniquely designed contact top which is electronically connected to a circuit which generates an AC signal. The strength of the signal transmitted across the contact tips is directly proportional to the conductivity of the food or beverage being tested and is, accordingly, registered on a display panel located on the body of the salt sensor.

  • Patent number: 4896801
Abstract: A method and apparatus of controlling the pouring spout of a tundish for molten metals, including a slide valve composed of a valve member mounted for movement between a head plate disposed on the underside of the tundish and a discharge member. For preventing in a particularly effective way any freezing of the molten metal and for avoiding any static shadow corners the valve member and/or the head plate or both in the closed and/or open or part-open position thereof are moved in such a way that a two-dimensional relative movement perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pouring spout is generated between the valve member and the head plate.

  • Patent number: 4841871
Abstract: A monorail transportation system utilizing generally inverted channel shaped rail members for supporting personal transit vehicles which are each suspended from the rails by a carriage having traction motor propelled drive wheels engageable with the rail channel and spaced apart vehicle supporting guide wheels. The vehicles have aerodynamically contoured bodies provided with lift surfaces which provide varying degrees of lift in accordance with vehicle speed and angle of attack to reduce mechanical friction in the carriage and structural loading on the rail network. The vehicles are automatically controlled and used by individual user when called up from storage track sections at spaced apart stations along the rail network.

  • Patent number: 4805339
Abstract: A new and improved sonic fishing lure is disclosed. An energy source, an electrical circuit, and a sonic transducer are each respectively contained within chambers of a generally hollow cylindrically-shaped fishing lure. Due to the construction of the fishing lure, the sound output from the fishing lure is of a greater intensity and is produced for a longer period of time than that of prior art devices. The sound output from a coil activator vibrating plate type of transducer is enhanced by the addition of a second vibrating plate. A fluid connection between the outer surface of the sound transducer and the body of the fishing lure further enhances and intensifies the sound output by the fishing lure.

  • Patent number: 4791861
Abstract: A compact pizza storage and bake unit which takes up a maximum of twenty inches wide on a counter space, eighteen inches deep, and thirty-one inches high. This unit carries in its lower portion at least ten refrigerated or frozen pizza crusts and ingredients for the pizza including sauce, cheese packets adequately proportioned for the amount required, and garnishing such as pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, capers and the like. The oven is the top half and separated entirely from the bottom half refrigeration area by dead air space and the compressor area. A blower is provided adjacent the compressor to accomplish the twofold purpose of evacuating the dead air space between the oven and refrigerator to prevent undesirable transfer of heat to the refrigerator, and at the same time to accelerate the cooling through the condenser refrigeration coils mounted in the rear portion of the unit. The sidewalls of the frame are lowered adjacent the dead air space with the blower directly covering one.

  • Patent number: 4749493
Abstract: A method and apparatus for oxygenating water in an aquaculture system without adding nitrogen or other possibly harmful gases. A columnar housing floats in the aquaculture pond on a float ring with a submersible pump immersed in the pond. The pump draws in water and pumps it to the top of an oxygenation chamber which is packed with a surface expansion medium. The oxygenation chamber is filled with oxygen which is transferred to the water falling through the chamber. The oxygenated water is returned to the pond through outlet ports at the bottom of the oxygenation chamber. A cover on the column can be removed at times to allow infiltration of air for aeration of the water.

  • Patent number: 4732180
Abstract: Apparatus for wire wrapping or tying is disclosed, wherein an inner sleeve is telescopically positioned within an outer sleeve, each of which is provided with a handle for imparting relative rotational movement. The wire tie apparatus is adapted to receive wire which is wrapped an object to be tied. The wire passes through the outer sleeve then through the inner sleeve. Apparatus is provided to fricitionally lock the wire at some point along the length of the inner sleeve. Rotation of the inner sleeve relative to the outer sleeve in accordance with specially prepared ends of both the inner and outer sleeves causes the wire to twist and to become wrapped tightly around the object to be wrapped. Further relative rotation causes inelastic extension of the wire and subsequent breakage of the same somewhere along the length of the twisted portion thereof.
