Abstract: The invention relates to additives for improving cold-flow and lubricating properties of fuel oils, comprising A) 5-95% by weight of at least one oil-soluble amphiphile of the formula ?in which R1 is an alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl or aromatic radical having 1 to 50 carbon atoms, X is NH, NR3, O or S, y is 1, 2, 3 or 4, R2 is hydrogen or an alkyl radical carrying hydroxyl groups and having 2 to 10 carbon atoms and R3 is an alkyl radical carrying nitrogen and/or hydroxyl groups and having 2 to 10 carbon atoms or C1-C20-alkyl, and B) 5 to 95% by weight of a terpolymer containing from 10 to 35 mol % of structural units derived from the vinyl ester of a carboxylic acid having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, from 1 to 15 mol % of structural units derived from the vinyl ester of a neocarboxylic acid having 8 to 15 carbon atoms, and structural units of ethylene to 100 mol %, having a melt viscosity, measured at 140° C., of from 20 to 10,000 mPas.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an additive for improving the lubrication capacity of fuel oils with a maximum sulfur content of 0.035 wt. %. The additive contains at least one ester of a bivalent or polyvalent alcohol and a mixture of unsaturated and optionally saturated fatty acids, whose carbon chain lengths are between 8 and 30 carbon atoms, the aforementioned esters having an OH value of less than 200 mg KOH/g ester and an iodine value greater than 100 g l/100 g ester. The invention also relates to fuel oils with a maximum sulfur content of 0.035 wt. %, which contain the inventive additives. The novel additives exhibit less tendency to emulsify than the additives of the prior art.
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a pigment composition containing between 86.0 and 99.9 total mol % of C.I. Pigment Yellow 74 molecules and between 14.0 and 0.1 total mol % of at least one monoazo pigment of the formula (1) wherein R1 represents Cl, OCH3, OH3 or NO2 as a coloring agent for pigmenting ink-jet inks and color filters.

Abstract: An aqueous solution is prepared comprising 5 to 25% by weight of an anionic surfactant, 0.5 to 20% by weight of an amphoteric surfactant, 4 to 6% by weight of a nonionic surfactant and, if necessary, an antiseptic and the aqueous solution is adjusted with an organic acid to pH in the range of 4.5 to 7.0, which is used as an undiluted solution of a hydrophilicity maintaining and promoting agent for a polysilazane-containing coating film. The undiluted solution is diluted with water to from 3 to 15 times and the resulting solution is used as a hydrophilicity promoting agent. While the undiluted solution is diluted with water to from 30 to 70 times and the resulting solution is used as a hydrophilicity maintaining agent. The hydrophilicity promoting agent is applied on an anti-fouling coating film which is formed by applying on a substrate a coating solution comprising polysilazane and, if necessary, silica conversion catalyst, and thereby the coating film is made hydrophilic in an extremely short time.
