  • Patent number: 5518403
Abstract: A fire fighting trainer for use in training fire fighters about a ceiling rollover fire. This trainer includes a chamber with a ceiling and includes a burner head subassembly and includes a burner control subassembly. The burner head subassembly has a fuel gas inlet pipe and an adjacent combustion air inlet pipe to produce an air/gas mixture which creates a flame at the ceiling. The burner control subassembly selectively increases the fuel gas flow to make the produced flame have a ceiling rollover effect.

  • Patent number: 5464208
Abstract: The invention relates to a ball pitching machine having a ball feed means for feeding balls to a feeding point where they will be acted upon by rotating drive wheels, a plurality of at least two drive wheels having planes and axes of rotation, said axes of rotation being perpendicular to said planes, said wheels being disposed about said feeding point so as to simultaneously act on a fed ball imparting to the fed ball spin and a forward velocity and trajectory, outwardly away from the feeding point in a direction initially perpendicular to the axes of rotation and in the plane of the wheels. The rotating means is constructed for rotating each drive wheel independent of other drive wheels at a plurality of preselected rotational speeds thereby effecting a type of pitched ball having a predetermined trajectory. A tilting means is provided for altering the trajectory, upwardly or downwardly, in a vertical plane, coplaner with the plane of the drive wheels.

  • Patent number: 5414964
Abstract: A flashing product (10) being an elongated flashing strip (20) made of resilient material having a member or members (21) attached to one marginal edge portion (22) of the flashing strip and extending in the direction of elongation thereof. The member or members (21) each being a metal strip having slits or slots (23, 24) formed therein extending from opposite edges of the metal strip (21) in a direction across the direction of elongation so that the metal strip or strips may be non-resiliently stretched in the direction of elongation and when so stretched is capable of maintaining the marginal edge portion of the resilient material correspondingly stretched.

  • Patent number: 5411397
Abstract: A fire fighting trainer for use in training fire fighters to extinguish jet crash fuel fires and the like, the trainer includes a supply pipe and control valve, a distribution pipe with holes, an open tank with a diffuser being a mixture of water and gravel within which the distribution pipe is disposed, so that liquid propane jets out from the holes, then passes as vapor bubbles to the diffuser surface, then collects as propane vapor on the surface, and a gas pilot flame device for lighting the propane vapor to form flames on the diffuser surface. The simulated flames look very similar to jet crash liquid fuel flames.
